Oh boy, these long days just keep comin'!
Last night, I didn't make it home until 11:30. As in PM.
But let's not dwell on that. Instead, I would like to share an amazingly easy, delish meal.
ingredients:
4 quarts cold water
1/4 cup Old Bay or other spicy seasoning
1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more, to taste
4 celery stalks, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 yellow onion, diced
1 head garlic, halved
2 1/2 pounds small red potatoes
4 ears corn, shucked, each cut into 4 pieces
2 pounds smoked sausage, cut into 1 1/2-inch slices
2 pounds medium shrimp, in the shell, deveined
directions:
In a slow cooker combine the water, Old Bay seasoning, salt, celery, onion, garlic and potatoes and cook on low heat until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife, 4-6 hours.
Add the corn and sausage to the crock pot and simmer until the corn is tender, 1-2 more hours. Add the shrimp and simmer until opaque, 20 to 30 minutes more. Taste the broth and adjust the seasonings with salt and pepper, if necessary.
Serve immediately.
It is officially hubby approved!

Congrats on advancing!
I want to do this and eat outside in someone's backyard when it's warm enough!!!
Drooooooling!!!
That is definitely a MAN meal, and I'm sure my hubby would approve too! I'll have to copy it and cook it for him. And it's funny cause I just asked him the other day about eating a meal with sausage in it. This looks perfect!
Lovin' the fancy newspaper print tablecloth...wait a minute. It's just newspaper! But it works. It totally fits the theme of the meal. Looks like a smorgasbord free for all yummy food fest.
Now THAT is some country food!! Have a great Easter weekend :)
Hope you get some rest this Easter Weekend. Have to admit, that broil looks pretty good. Do you think I can replicate it, with tofu?
Looks like you have a winning recipe :]
I'd definitely be willing to try it!
That looks really good!
Is that a HUGE lime-a-rita your hubs was drinking? Holy schmoly! I have to mix mine with Bud Light to tone down how sweet it is! Half Lime-a-rita and half Bud Light. Try it!

Oh yum! This is a favorite for us when we visit my family down near the beach. Love that fresh seafood! :)
we do a similar style low country boil and that stuff is amazing. i could eat it until someone rolls me away. It must be served on newspaper for full experience!
