Home For The Holidays!

I'm so excited, I can't stand it!
This weekend we head to Pensacola for much needed family time!

I don't know what it is, but I love flying with Will. He is my favorite travel companion.
I don't know if it's because I always flew by myself as a child, but now, when I fly with him it's like a whole new experience! Plus he's fun to look at and nap on....

ready for our flight to NYC!!!

Next week, after 2.5 years of marriage...our parents will finally meet. Crazy, I know.

Most of you know that we eloped, which isn't that abnormal these days, but it is abnormal for the parentals to have not met. It is even more abnormal when they haven't met going into the third year. Somehow, no one has even brought it up.

I asked my dad if he thought it was weird, and he just said that they knew that Will and I were meant for each other, so it hadn't mattered. That definitely made me a happy girl. However, I knew that it was time, and Christmas 2012 would be perfect. I am fairly certain that all will go smooth, but I do keep having flashbacks of the movie, Meet The Fockers. Either way, there are going to be some good stories to share. Griswold Christmas? Here we come!

Get ready, Pensacola...

We are coming for you!!

What is everyone doing for the holidays?

PS. Burglars beware...we have booby traps and house sitters!
Well, maybe not booby traps, but there are plenty of guns if need be ;)

meeting of the parents!! I have been dating my guy for 8 years (we started in highschool) but the parents have only met a couple of times. Very different. but I am sure it will go smoothly- good luck!

WOOOHOO! So happy you and your love are having Christmas time with your families, super exciting!

I don't think that's weird about them not meeting. I'm sure C and my parents won't meet until the rehersal dinner ;)!

I don't think it's strange that they haven't met. Honestly, I have no idea when my parents will meet my guy's parents. When we live in Florida, my parents live in Texas, and his parents live in the Midwest....well, there really isn't much opportunity for get togethers haha.

It is kind of odd that they haven't met because both are so important in your life but I'm sure it wasn't intentional. Sometimes time just gets away from you. I bet they already feel like they know him anyways so the meet up is just a formality. Enjoy your family trip! I love traveling with my husband too.

Sometimes I wish our parents hadn't met!! Haha K I'm kidding, but they are just such polar opposites that I always feel stuck trying to ensure everyone gets along and it isn't awkward. I usually don't succeed. Let's just say, during wedding planning, our moms didn't talk once, and we planned for 2+ years!
Monkey in the Middle over here ;)

Good luck and safe travels!

Have fun! Florida is the best place to be for the holiday season! :)
P.S. I love flying with another person. I flew a lot by myself in college and it's always better with a friend or husband. :)

This is going to be a FUN Christmas vacation :) I'm excited to hear how your families get along!

And we just met a couple who eloped, and then held a wedding ceremony of sorts for their families. Funny part? Her parents don't know she eloped and think that the ceremony was the real thing!! The couple is pregnant with their 2nd child and they plan on continuing to keep the secret from her parents forever, ha ha!

I've never flown with my husband--but I bet it will be ever so much more fun than flying alone, which is what I'm used to! And my parents have never met his parents either....I will be somewhat surprised if they ever actually do meet. It's not like they don't like each other (obviously, they've never met) but long distances just get in the way!!
Have a wonderful Christmas!!

it took me two years to introduce brady to my dad. everyone else knew about brady... my dad was something else, glad it wasn't as hard as i thought it'd be... makes me wish they met sooner. i don't think my parents have met brady's dad tho... oops. so really... what is normal now a days? and plus.. we're not married, but live w/ each other. hehe. hope all went well! which i sure think it did. :)
