A Lot Has Changed In Ten Years

At the reunion, our President had all kinds of goodies: Yearbooks, pictures from our last week of school, and these fabulous 'time capsule' questionnaires that we filled out high on hormones life and dreaming of freedom.

I giggled as I read the back of the envelope, "In 10 years I will be living in South Florida, having already started my career. I might be married, but I hopefully won't have kids yet." I had it all figured out, huh? I can say that a lot of my questionnaire still rings true, though.

What are your favorite phrases or sayings? Peace. For real. Don't be bitter.
Where is your favorite hangout? The beach
What is your favorite song? Anything by Sublime
What is your favorite Movie? Life Is Beautiful
If you could have any car what would it be? Elanor

How many children do you want to have? Two
Who will become President of the United States? Me, Janna
Who will be the wealthiest? Me! Just kidding
Where will you be working in ten years? My grandmother's company.

This life is completely different than my 18 year old young self expected, but when you let go...things can turn out better than you've ever dreamed. I don't really believe the whole 'these are the best days of our lives' nonsense. At every stage of my life I have enjoyed it to my fullest. Sure, I still have a long way to go, but I don't plan on ever settling for less than an adventure.

Oh how fun to see your answers from the questionnaire! I wish that my high school would have done something like that.

Isn't' it fun to look back and find what we thought we would be doing? I did a ten year letter, which our government teacher mailed us. It was pretty awesome to read! Happy Birthday week!

I think it's really important to BE in the moment of your life and enjoy it to its fullest, just like you said. Looking back is pretty fun (and sometimes really entertaining) :)

I LOVE this! Wish I had something like this from my 18 y/o self, but I can honestly say even without it that my life is nothing like I ever could have dreamed it would be. Never imagined i'd be preparing to live the MILSO life, but I can also attest that I would have my life no other way. You're amazing Janna!

Such a clever idea to answer a questionnaire as your younger self! Loved reading it!

Oh my gosh... Sublime... I was SO obsessed with them at that age!! Love this! I'm pretty certain we did a similar time capsule thing at my high school, going on 14 years ago now... I wonder why we never opened it?!

Oh wow, a high school reunion! I missed both the 10 and 20 year reunion. There's some sort of Christmas party for alums that live in the area, but I haven't got the fondest memories of high school so I haven't decided yet!

I thought I would be doing much less than I am doing today. It makes me pretty happy that I am doing better than I thought I would be. It would have been really cool if my school would have done something like this.

I missed my 10 year reunion but I am considering going to my 20 year.

One of my good friends owned an Elanor for a bit. He ended up selling it, though, when the right buyer came along (he buys, fixes up, and sells old cars). He loved that car, though!

Glad you had fun at the reunion! :)

Love it. I don't think my class will ever have a freaking reunion... our class president is a dud and our entire senior year lacked the jazz of being a senior year!
