Stay-Cation

~Helloooo Denver weekend getaway~

We have lived in Colorado for over a year, and other than day trips, we have yet to explore Denver.  When I heard that Atmosphere, was coming to town, I knew we just had to go up for Will's birthday. Then, on top of that, I found a Groupon for a Bed and Breakfast, and thus weekend plans were established.

Last Friday is when the fun began!
We had a pleasant drive up, since I totally played hooky from work and then got a hotel with our friends Lysa and Brandon. Aren't they so cute?

The venue was outdoors and nestled between incredible rock formations, which as you can guess, made it a very cold Colorado concert!  It was the first EVER winter concert at Red Rocks, so we came prepared! That involved bundling up (most donned their ski gear), snuggling close and using many of these >>>
I must say- I was pretty worried about freezing my tukas off, but I'm not sure if the weather was more pleasant than expected or the concert took my mind off of the cold...Either way, let's just say we would all brave the cold again in a heartbeat for that show!

Day 2 of Denver, we checked into the Queen Anne Urban Bed & Breakfast
-and it was just as cool as it sounds.

The Denver Art Museum took up most of our time that day, but I will show you pictures of that soon.  I believe that it is worthy of it's own post, and this one's going to be long enough as it is.

I love how the mountains are the background of the city...

After a quick nap we continued the fun, by perusing the Cherry Creek Mall-> we're talkin' Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Nordstrom AND Anthropologie.  I promised Will dinner at Kona Grill afterwards, so he was happy to oblige.

By the third day, we realized that we can't hang as well as we used to, and coffee was SO necessary!

We had one last day, and we hoped to make the most of it!

(I snuck in a little more shopping)

And then to top the weekend off- we had no choice but to gorge ourselves make a visit to BENIHANA'S!!!

We may or may not have brought four orders of fried rice home to freeze for later enjoyment.
Don't judge.

All in all, it was an AMAZING weekend with the hubs.  If only we could have taken the pup.
We missed him terribly <3

Well, I guess that's enough for today ;)
I have to go to work early, but it's almost Friday, y'all!
Woohoo!
