I Don't Want To 'Adult' Anymore This Week

It's not like this week has been a bad week and I actually feel very accomplished, buuuuut it's been a doozy. Let me break it down for ya: I had to call Direct TV to get our bill lowered when it went up $40 bucks at the year mark. Sure, I knew it was coming, but you know stuff like that doesn't fly with me. Our bill is now $20 cheaper and we have free movie channels. I had to call our insurance and every Medical Supply around to find out how and where to get a breast pump now that Tricare is covering them. I almost think it's too generous of them, but I'm not about to pass it up- you know me and 'free'. Then I discovered that our water usage had doubled and I crawled around in the dirt checking the meter to find we had a pipe leak in the yard. I think I'm most proud of the fact that I've been tracking our water usage and even though the bill only went up slightly, I knew something was wrong and probably saved our landlord a lot of money if that hole was never discovered or the pipe eventually burst. To top it all off, I paid bills, worked on paperwork, and tried to get some things done on our rental property so that if I go into labor it all won't be forgotten. Like I said...I feel pretty dern accomplished.

Luckily, my wonderful hubby did the part that I didn't want to do and that's backup/activate/setup/restore my new iPhone! My Lifeproof case finally came in, so I am now allowed to play with my new toy. I was pretty disappointed with the new Lifeproof colors, but then I stumbled upon The Skin Dudes and am way happier with a waterproof vinyl skin than just getting another colorful case. I guess I'm happy with the phone in general even though I haven't tested it out much. All I know is that the zoom setting is amazing, because I was getting too blind to read the tiny screen on the 5S. Will did get to upgrade to my 5S until his upgrade, and bonus: I sold his old 5 for almost what I paid for the new phone. Oh, and in case you've never thought about getting a Lifeproof case, we have saved $1,000+ by not having insurance on our phones for the last four years, and you can't beat that.

Now I just hope Charlie doesn't make her appearance this weekend...we have Father's Day activities scheduled, a pool party with friends, a trip to Dothan, and another surprise happening for me on Sunday. I guess we will be finishing this pregnancy with a bang either way. Cheers to all the fathers and baby daddies out there. It's your weekend!

I Just Got Scolded Because I Forgot To Post This Morning.

This week wasn't near as bad as I expected. I made some bangin' food, got a LOT accomplished, and still got quality time with the hubs. I think I may even feel good in my bikini this weekend, and I'm not gonna lie...I was worried. Lately, I've been a lot more liberal with my eating habits because I don't have to squeeze into that tiny uniform. However, when I have to don a bikini, I rethink my eating habits. I know I don't look terrible, but I feel terrible...all bloated and meh. Oh the joys of a slowing metabolism. Have you seen the meme about getting pregnant as an excuse to get fat? It is tempting...

That picture has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but I'm flippin' excited to head back there soon! We can't wait to spend a wonderful weekend with our hubbies and enjoy some good ol' country music on the beach. BCE would = 'Best Combination EVER' if I were a tween, but I'm not...and yet it's still true. You know what's not a good combination? Money and the Internet. Baaaad combination. It's like a thieves paradise.

Unlike Taylor, I hate internet scammers. I related and LOVED her post, but sitting here typing my blood is boiling. I know so many people that have hacked emails, internet charges, and been phone swindled that it makes me sick to my stomach. The faceless evil is becoming worse than a face to face confrontation, and the victims never seem to get justice. In an effort to help whomever I can, I want to share some scenarios I've come across that could trick even the savviest computer user.

You see, they are getting so smart that they create graphics mimicking sites you use and tell you to click their link because you've been hacked and you need to change your password. Solution? Don't click ANY links from your email, and just open a new browser to type in the address. You click that url, and you are done-zo. If you are questioning it, you can always check the email. It may have the title of the site included, but it will be obvious that it's not official, especially if it says UK at the end.

It's crazy how much access the hackers and anyone can have via the interwebs. For example, I signed up for  a UPS membership deal they have, and to verify it was me, they INSTANTANEOUSLY came up with questions from my past that I had to think hard for the answers. Their site could determine my address ten years ago, what I drove, and where I went to college in less time than it took me to read the questions. Keep that in mind people, and that goes for Facebook and other Social Media too. I don't care if your account is private, there is someone somewhere using some software looking for keywords, and if you say those keywords, they will totally hack you and/or begin watching you.

We all think it can't happen to us, but I've had my credit card number stolen a few times. I wish we all didn't have to be so cautious, but we are the only ones that can really stop hackers from hacking us through diligence. It's scary that we must protect our children from online predators, refrain from clicking links in our email, aid the elderly that don't have experience with the internet, and spread the word about circulating hacks and hope it's enough. I'm sorry to disrupt our regular programming, but if I can help one person, it was worth it!

Comments off for Labor Day Weekend festivities. Happy Labor Day!

Pictures Are Practically Currency In Blogging

I can't even explain to you how happy I am that I'm only working four days this week, and I am back to four days because I leave for Pensacola Saturday! Of course, I have nine million things to do before then including finding someone to take care of Weiser, but at least it will make the week fly by! Then next week will fly by while I'm home, and get me closer to having Will home. Win/win.

This weekend flew by too. Saturday morning we went to the Air Force/Army game, and it was SO fun. We had to get up super early, which was a bad idea since I had to close the store Saturday night, but still totally worth it.

Sunburned and starving, I made it to work on time, and pulled out my camera to show someone the Halloween pictures. I turned it on, and got some evil message telling me that I had to reformat my memory card or I would lose my photos. I obviously clicked 'okay' even though I knew I was probably going to lose them either way, and my biggest fear came true when 'There are no images to be viewed on this device' flashed in my face. Faaaack.

I was too tired to freak out, so I conversed with my friend Matt about the problem. He gave me the idea that I should try the SD card reader on my laptop. I did, which didn't magically unveil them like I had hoped, but I wasn't going to give up. I began googling my issue, and found the CardRecovery.com site! It allowed me to use a trial version to check and see if the files were even still on the card, and then once I had found the files, I purchased the software for $34.95!

Before you yell at me, I already had almost all of the low-res files saved on my laptop, so it wouldn't have been the end of the world, but I still wanted the option to save the 3,000 Raw files to my external hard drive. Plus, now I have the capability to recover anything, including stuff that has been deleted accidentally or intentionally from my camera, memory cards, phone, AND my flash drives.

 *Recover deleted photos from memory cards
* Recover lost photos and videos from memory cards
 *Recover photos from formatted memory cards
 *Recover photos from damaged, unreadable or defective memory cards
 *Recover pictures from removable storage including flash drives
* Recover images, video files from mobile phones

I'm not even getting compensated to tell you all of this. I just thought I should spread the word, because I know we ALL have problems like this. Pictures are practically currency in blogging, so none of us can afford to lose them. Am I right, or am I right?

Did anyone watch the Air Force/ Army game? The ESPNU camera was on us several times, so I'm curious as to whether we made it on TV ;)

Catfish Is Not Just My Favorite Fried Fish Anymore

Ooooooooh boy.
I'm back, the trip was amazing, and it just might be the best birthday I've ever had. Too bad the recap is going to have to wait; a few things have gotten in the way...

+ The incessant crying from Monday was a big problem.
You'd think that I would be good at saying goodbye at this point, but instead I get worse. The only thing I can figure is that I love him MORE with each passing day, so the goodbyes just get harder. He left Tuesday morning, and I've had nothing but anxiety since he left. I don't want to make this harder on him so I will hold myself together, but did the Army really have to take him "just to reach their training numbers"? Aren't we supposed to be spending less money these days?

+ My new iPhone came in a day early!
Not that I'm complaining, but I spent Tuesday night at Verizon trying to get everything transferred over and the new Lifeproof case installed. I still didn't get my pictures switched over, but this is why I back everything up on the computer, as well. I can't just count on iCloud. Actually, I don't trust iCloud at all. Oh well, I now have a fresh, clean phone with lots of memory available!

+ My childhood friend was on Catfish last night!
I honestly used to think the show was about fishing for catfish (I was raised on fried catfish), but upon further review, I just thought it was a bunch of weirdos. That is until I found out my dear friend Michael B. was going to be on the show! It aired last night and I was thoroughly impressed with how he handled the situation. He pulled off looking like a caring, concerned, sweetheart instead of a male ego with his head stuck up his rear. Obviously he's single, ladies! This was from the last wedding we were in together:

+ I have a pulled Hip Flexor. Well, I'm hoping that it's just pulled.
I haven't gone to the doctor, but it seems pretty clear cut that it is something to do with my hip flexor. Perhaps I shouldn't have run 4 miles on Friday or hiked on Sunday, but I really didn't realize how bad I had hurt it. Now instead of being healed in 2-4 days like it was supposed to do, I am having to take it easy for a good week. Especially since I slipped in the kitchen at work and tweaked it even worse. I barely take recovery days, so a week of no workouts is going to make me go nuts.

Other than that, I am trying to wrap my mind around working at my current job for the next four months. We all know that I love my job, but I don't always love every location that I work at. This current store has gone back and forth as my favorite and least favorite for many reasons (mean girls, bullies, corporate nonsense, and a rotating door for managers), and right now...it's hard to go to work sometimes. There is SUCH a negative vibe that I have nightmares about this place. I've even thought about moving to a location that is farther from my house, so that I could make it through this final time without having a mental breakdown. Let's just hope I don't cause too much ruckus in the near future. I tend to get myself in trouble while Will is gone, and this time I have a bunch of people egging me on. We are all at our wits end.

How do you guys deal with a tough work environment? Do you put up with crap because the money is worth it? How can I ignore the negativity and press on? I really don't want to quit before we move, so talk me off the ledge!

PS. What are your favorite apps? I am not in the know when it comes to the best apps.

Summer Favoritas!

Today, I am flying back to Chicago!
I just love my job sometimes. The fact that I get PAID to go back to such an awesome city is fantastic. I am most excited about going to see The Book Of Mormon at the famous Chicago Theater, which we didn't get to see last time. Apparently, it's from the creators of South Park, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be an interesting take on Mormonism. Have any of you seen it?

In honor of Summer drawing to a close this weekend, I thought I would share some of my favorite moments. Obviously, having Will home was the best part!

Favorite Trip:

Favorite Date:
We had a LOT of good dates this summer, but the Scavenger Hunt Picnic was my favorite.

Favorite Accomplishment:
Shooting for the Hooters Calendar is an accomplishment in itself, and come October 1st, we will know if I've actually made it IN the Calendar. Cross your fingers.

Favorite Toy:

Favorite "Look" of the summer:

Favorite Song:

Favorite Movie:

I don't actually know if there were any serious I'm-going-to-die-if-I-don't-see-this-the-moment-it-premiers movies, but I really enjoyed The Great Gatsby. Maybe because I've read it a million times, but either way, it was a great cinematic experience.

Only regret:
Not getting to go back to the pool at The Broadmoor. I REALLY wanted to stay there again, and veg out in the pool.

PS. I don't usually wear makeup in the pool. We just finished brunch ;)

What were your favorites of the summer?
We were all slacking in blogland, so hopefully we all made up for it in Summer fun!

If Blood Makes You Squeamish, Look Away

Yesterday morning I had some time to spare, so I popped into Victoria's Secret. I had some of those coupons they've been sending out and got a $10 GC from work, so I was on a mission. There I was trying on some fabulous braziers and bathing suits, and holy canoli, I felt the needle part of the sensor cut right through my arm.

The poor sales girl had no clue what to do, so I just asked her to put my stuff on hold and said I would come back when the bleeding had stopped. Later I found out this was the best decision, because when I went back the manager was there, and she went above and beyond to make up for my little wound. I didn't even have to complain and she was throwing more coupons and discounts my way. I of course added a few more items to my pile to milk the discount, and by the time I was done, we had taken more than $60 off my bill! A bathing suit, two bras, and six pairs of panties is a freakin' steal at $63 dollars. Way to go Victoria's Secret, you have won my loyalty, and in spite of all the ninnies telling me to sue you, I would never. Discounts will suffice, 'cuz you can totally buy my love ;)

Other than that...I have Apple and iPhones on the brain.

Usually, I'm that person that refuses to go for the "newest" iPhone and chooses the older model to beat the system and not pay those hyped up prices. However, I am totally torn about the next launch. September is fast approaching, and other than Pumpkin Spice Lattes, we know that means a new iPhone is coming out. As a matter of fact, there seems to be two iPhones coming out.

Initially, I could have upgraded in June, but I gave my upgrade to Will. My speaker and software weren't working already, but his phone was having even more issues than mine. He had an upgrade in August, so I resigned myself to waiting until then. I knew that it wouldn't be an iPhone 6 coming out, so I figured I'd just get the 5 and call it a deal. Uuuuuntil I heard that the "5S" or whatever they dub it will have a better processor and therefore better battery life. Oh, and I hear there is a champagne color option...sounds just fab to me. The second, the "5C", will be a cheaper option made of plastic for the first time and come in different fun colors. What is a girl to do?

Why does my Birthday have to be all the way in October? Birthdays are a great excuse for ignoring the guilt one might feel for purchasing materialistic things, right? I guess I could just wait for my Birthday, but living without an alarm is getting really old. It is against my religion to succumb to the desires of our society, but I just don't know what else to do.
Are any of you going to rush out and but the newest iPhones?

Speaking of Pumpkin Spice...Has anyone tried this stuff?

It looks AMAZING.

Fun Via My iPhone

This is how I deal with Textemarketers:

This is how I school my baby brother:

Proof of how connected Will and I are:

Those Boneless Breast commercials got to him. Haha

And perhaps the absolute best:

Don't text us inappropriate stuff by accident or you are going to totally get called out!

Just some fun for your Thursday. You're welcome.

What If I Chopped My Hair Off?

Have you heard of a new App called GoNo?
I feel like it was practically invented for Bloggers! You pose a question with corresponding picture(s), and you can ask anyone to help you make a decision. For example:

 photo IMG_7930_zps7c0bd675.png

Or more importantly, I'm going to need help in deciding whether thigh high boots are appropriate for this weekend. I'm going to wear them no matter what BUT I will feel better if you guys tell me that I'm not completely crazy. I mean, I know I'm crazy for buying them {two years ago}, but I really want to wear them! I feel like I will be fully stepping out of my comfort zone, and it's about time that I did that.

 photo Gono_zpsecd108ad.jpg

As you start getting responses, the fun just gets better and better...

 photo Gono2_zps1550b3cb.jpg

Apparently, males are more against thigh highs than women. The good news is that Will wants me to wear them, and he's the only guy that counts. Hehe

I must also brag a minute and say that GoNo was founded by my friend Todd, and you can read more about it and him here and here on Top Mobile Trends. Ladies, he's smart, handsome, going places, and SINGLE in DC. Gosh, I love pimping my guy friends out ;)

 photo 36638_631433305765_2468783_n.jpg

This picture? Flying to the Bahamas to stay at Todd's vacation house. Nbd.

Love you, Toddy, and am so proud of you!
{I won't tell you what his nickname for me is.}
Pumpkin Tits

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I hope you all have a great weekend, and I will catch you all on the flip side ;)
Three day Staycation-Denver-Getaway, here we come!
PS. If you download GoNo for FREE, make sure you let me know, so we can have some fun with it! I can only imagine the possibilities!
ETD, Not STD
Well, this weekend didn't turn out as planned.
Instead of gym time, BBQ's, and friends, there was Urgent Care, swollen glands, and Motrin. Luckily, I just had a little Viral Infection, but my swollen gland was on the back left of my neck behind a muscle and weee doggie it hurt! I guess my body decided that I needed rest this weekend, so I caught some extra zzz's, tried to catch up on blogging, cuddled up with the hubby to watch The Hobbit, and enjoyed a marathon of Men In Trees and Matlock. Don't judge me. I love Matclock.
Here are my thoughts from the weekend:
...Does anyone remember the show Men In Trees?
I LOVED that show, so Will has gotten me a couple of seasons. I think all single ladies should watch it, but anyone that wants a good show about leaving your comfort zone would enjoy it. They just don't make shows like this anymore.
...Apple is extremely annoying, but my friends make me laugh about it.
Particularly Dustin...Oh and Ms. Mary? She was my ride to elementary school ;)
 photo Dustin_zps68a66975.png
...I learned that the annoying crackling sound that you get in your ear when sick is called Eustachian Tube Dysfuntion or ETD. Basically, you have to load up on the decongestants and gum, just like flying. That noise drives me batshit crazy, so I'm happy I found a way to calm it down.
...Will is my hero.
Other than the obvious reasons {hello sexy soldier}, he cooked, cleaned, gave up time with his friends to take care of me, AND fixed my iPod and phone. Just when I think this man can't get any better, he leaves me speechless again. I can't wait until I'm all better so that I can properly thank him.
LOVE you, babe!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now, I haven't heard from the radio station about the results, but either way, I still have a winner to reveal! I am so happy that Nicole from Life's A Beach snagged the prize :) I love all who entered, but I love it when loyal followers and friends win. Just bein' honest.

Congratulations girl!
Send me your address and I will have your gift on the way.

March Madness And A Wonderful Weekend

After twenty-two days, I finally have my hubby back! He doesn't have to scarf dinner, do homework, go to sleep at 8PM to get up at 4AM, or work on the weekends anymore! It might have been Aunt Flo's fault, but I cried several times just overflowing with emotion. Golly gee...I just can't help but love him.

Knowing that this weekend would be his first weekend off, I asked Will what he would like to do. I was thinking he'd want to go out and get rowdy or at least get dinner, but guess what? His response was that he wanted to stay home, have movie marathons, and just spend time with me! Ooooh Yeeeeaaahh ;)

As usual we planned to go to the gym both days, but Mother Nature had other plans. She didn't care that it was "Spring Break", so we had "Blowing Snow" all day Saturday. That didn't stop us, though. We had a workout party in the living room, and tried Insanity out. I'm not a fan. I'd rather do Jillian Michaels or go running any day. Everyone's right, it is intense, but almost too intense. I want to enjoy working out, not have a heart attack in my living room.

Other than that, we watched sappy movies (Will knows that they are totally an aphrodisiac), drank Cupcake Red Velvet, and cuddled up by the fire in my adult onesie.

We also found time to cross some more off the to-do list:

Perception Is Everything

My Kick@ss Cohost:
Megan From Growing Up Is Actually Kind Of Fun

Thanks to Rebecca, I have made headway on my iPhone storage issues, so between that and the books that Will got me, I WILL be updated by the end of March Madness!
I got laundry done AND put away all in one day.
I REPEAT:
I got laundry done AND put away all in one day.
The Bogert's had a cleaning/organizing party on Sunday.
{I don't care if my husband has ulterior motives when he cleans. I like a clean house and sex.}

I cleaned 10GB of crap off my laptop and organized photo folders.
I've decided I take entirely too many pictures.
I installed my camera software and uploaded the first set of pictures.

I can't even put into words how much I LOVE this camera. The video is HD and auto-adjusts itself, the pictures come out striking, and the software for the camera is super user friendly. The following is basically unedited, taken without a flash, and I didn't even have to change a single setting on the camera. Point and shoot capabilities, but totally high quality!

 photo MarchSony0532_zps673d2bd8.jpg

Remember, next Monday is the final link up for March Madness. Whether you have participated along the way or not, feel free to share your craziness of March. We should ALL be proud that we made it through and that it's time for some Spring time fun!

Remember When I Didn't Know How To Use Instagram?

Well, I still don't.
Specifically, I don't know the etiquette.
Apparently, I was supposed to comment back when all of you fabulous people leave such sweet comments. #Instagramfail. For clarification, I didn't know HOW to comment back.

I hope that you give me a pass for the past two years, since it took me a year JUST to find out that Instagram was a social media...like I had followers and didn't even know that was possible. I'm sure you are thinking, "Wow. What a blonde...", but seriously...I just thought it was a photo editor.

Initially this post was asking all of you if I was supposed to comment back and/or how to do so, and then this gem popped up on Pinterest. It answered all of my questions and more! I even bet that the avid 'Grammers will learn at least one thing from this tips list:

Currently...Not Much Has Changed In A Year

On a whim, I looked up the last "Currently" post that I did, and surprisingly, I feel like not much has changed. I know that sounds boring, but I find consistency awesome. Especially consistent happiness. {PS. We totally got rid of the mouse problem}

Currently I'm....

Reading...Blogs. Lots and lots of blogs. Still trying to catch up after last week.
And say hi to new faces...HI!
Ordering...YesTo Products.

Did you know that Aunie is the new Yes To Girl?
She reintroduced me to the line, and I am loving it again!

Since I ordered something, YOU now get 35% off (plus better online deals) by using this link. The products are pretty pricey, so I definitely recommend checking out the site. Plus if three of you order something then I get a $15 gift card. Holla!

Drinking...Coconut tea from Republic Of Teas
You know me and coconut.
Recovering From...Running three miles after not running for a week.
Jillian Michaels is great, but no match for straight up running.
Hitting My Head For...Overloading the disposal. Who knew potatoes would do that?
Avoiding...Going into to work on my days off.
I am supposed to be working four days, but it's been 5-6 every week!
Playing...With my new camera that Will made me get got me!

He wins husband of the YEAR in my eyes. He knows that I wouldn't shell out the money for this, so he traded our old camera for an iPad, sold the iPad, cashed in reward points, and he's selling one of his TWO laptops {long story}. He said that I was long overdue for a special present, and this was just the one. I guess the hints on the blog really did work ;) I kid, I kid. Kind of.

By the way, the camera is just as amazing as I thought and more. It's as easy to use as a point and shoot, but more bells and whistles than I could have imagined. The fun has JUST begun.

Planning...Dinner.
Debating...what time to get up to go to the gym.
Crushing On...My supa'dupa' sexy husband.

 photo ABirthday_zps408cb1f3.jpg

Obviously he was on break when this was taken, hence the beard. It also happened to be his Birthday {January 22nd}, and he is making 28 look good!
Yes, I am that far behind on posting pictures.

So yeah...Life is good :)

iCloud iLLiterate

What would make me feel better this week?
This camera:

The Sony Apha NEX 5R is Erin approved, so it must be awesome. Technically, I already have $369 saved towards it but it's too bad that even though I have only spent $150 out of my allowance for two months, I won't buy it. Sometimes I hate myself for being frugal.

I also figure that I should try and handle one project at a time. I can't even figure out how to use our Kindle until I get my iPhone updated, so dealing with a new camera would be counterproductive. Dammit.

I've also decided that the developers of the iCloud need to be the ones in charge of our Nation's secrets. Even after they have created tutorials, forums, and books about their precious iCloud, I STILL don't have ANY clue as to what is going on.

Please tell me I'm not the only one....

I mean, I know how the Restore works, I've tapped into the iCloud for Windows, and I've even bought extra storage space, but I still feel like I'm missing something.

Like for example...
How do you manage what's actually IN the icloud? I'm using all this storage with crap I'm sure I don't need, but I don't know how to delete it. I go to "Manage Storage" and it only has the restore points. Speaking of which, do I need both restore points that are saved or just the most recent one? Does the recent one contain all the data from Restore point 1 and restore point 2 or does it just leave off where restore point 1 stopped?

I've asked Will multiple times to help me, but I guess if I'm ever going to get this figured out I just have to get started myself. And by get started myself, I mean that I need all of YOUR help.

I haven't even updated to iOS6 yet, as I have been waiting to get all of this taken care of, all the while dreading the horror stories from people losing data after the install. Although, at this point Losing all the data and starting over might be a good thing.

Do hair straighteners count as technology?
-They plug in.
-They have temp-control settings.
-They seem to be a necessity for bloggers.
I'm gonna say yes, so that I can tell you about the sweet straightener that I got sent to review.

Source: hanasalon.com via Janna on Pinterest

In case you haven't noticed, I have a LOT of hair.
It grows thick and long because of good genes, taking care of it, and not over styling.  As such, I am very picky about the tools I use and was skeptical when I was approached about this review.

I had heard that the company was reputable, but I certainly wasn't going to lie if I had a different experience. Luckily, I don't have to because the proof is in the pictures:

 photo Hana_zpsd6e2e076.jpg

 photo Hana2_zps5613cb70.jpg

This was my first attempt at curling with a straightener, and I can't wait to try it again! It is super easy and I think I will get better the more I do it. Hi, I'm Captain Obvious.

Check out the straightener, and find it on sale here, on the Misikko site, and pass the link onto your friends and family for gift ideas. Do what I do and pin it to Pinterest, so that when people ask you what you want for Birthday/Christmas/Anniversaries you already have a list.

If you are still reading, I thank you. I was quite the ramblin' soldier today, so do forgive me. I just had a lot on my mind and you all listen really well ;)
