Answering Thought Provoking Questions...

I feel so overwhelmed with emotion from all the love and support we are getting about Will's promotion, and to top it off? Kelly gave me this good news:

 photo bloglovin_zps023363a6.png

I don't even really know what that means, but I know that it means the world to me that people actually enjoy my blog. Well, hopefully that is what that means.

And now the "thought provoking" questions that Becca asked for the Liebster award. I'm not gonna lie, I had to put some thought into these answers:

Favorite book to film adaptation?
Hands down, Harry Potter. #TeamPotter

If you could travel anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would you go? Why?
I would travel The Med. Italy, Greece, France, Monaco...Le sigh.
What’s the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Their shoes. You can tell a lot buy a guys shoe choice.
If you had to live in a decade other than the current one, which would you choose?
The 50's. I feel like Will and I would fit in really well then.

 photo 40124_650013925055_6871808_n.jpg

If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself in high school?
Don't quit exercising in College.
If you were to get a tattoo, what and where would it be?
My next tattoo {and seventh} is a secret. I can't give my ideas away.
I already see enough people with these now:

Who would you like to see pair up to sing a duet?
Coldplay and Barbara Streisand.
If you were a TV host who would be your fantasy Co-host?
My hubby. I feel like we could be the modern Sonny and Cher. Only funnier.
If you ruled the world what is the first thing you do or change?
Get rid of our overpaid, overtaxing, under-empathetic Government.
Did you grow up to be who you thought you be?
Pretty much. I mean, yeah...I thought I would be more of a "career woman", but everything else is as I'd hoped. Most importantly, I am proud of where I'm at, who I've chosen to spend the rest of my life with, and my outlook on life. It actually might be better than I thought.
If you were given a choice unlimited riches or immortality which would you choose?
Um...neither. Unlimited riches would bring greed, ego, and misery, while immortality would be even worse. I already get sad when I think about the changes that are going to happen in my lifetime {death, societal, economic, environmental}, and I can't even imagine having to be a witness to that until the end of time. I feel like one lifetime is enough for anyone.

I would also like to anounce that Kelly from Honor, Courage, Commitment is the winner of the
FREE Firmoo Spectacles! She is going to look SEXAY in them.

Check this fun out to make your week better too:

How many ways can you spend 250 free dollars???
I'll give you a crazy number of ways to win the $250 VISA and you figure all the ways to spend it! Sooooooo get to clicking, making friends, and crossing fingers for the winnings!

Everything Has Potential If You Care To See

Well, hello Friday. What took you so long?
OK, so I did have yesterday off, but I spent the WHOLE day blogging.
That does NOT count as a day off. Haha.

I received another award this week from Jenn @ Going The Distance, and I had to participate for
 two reasons:
+I really liked the questions and came up with some responses from the heart.
+She is TWO followers away from 200, and she TOTALLY deserves the love.

She happens to be a fabulous blogger that I have enjoyed following for quite some time now. She is a teacher so she always has funny stories, she is creating a beautiful love story (you know I'm a sucker for love), and she has the funniest stories about her old roommate. I felt bad for her, but she had me cracking up. It's the stuff you just can't make up...

Back to business. Here are may answers for the Sunshine Award!
{Not doing the whole shebang, just the questions}

1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
My bubble toes. My mom, my sister, and I ALL have them.
They are "cute" I guess, but I just want normal toes!

2.  What is your theme song?
Bob Marley, Don't Worry Be Happy.
Self explanatory.

3.  One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?
I could say that I would rid my brain of the fights between my parents (they divorced), the feeling of breaking the heart of an ex and having mine broken in return, death of a family pet, or even the death of a dear friend and the memory of sitting on the hospital floor when they pulled the plug...However, each experience taught me a lesson that made me stronger, better, and more compassionate. No matter what you believe in, we all know that one small change can lead you down a completely different path, and I can't imagine being any where other than where I am now. Can you imagine if I had missed meeting Will? The thought is so scary, but more than anything, it's eye opening.

4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
Everyone says that Will and I are right out of the 50's. We love all things vintage, we don't get sucked into the new ideals of society, we believe in hard work and dedication, and our love is timeless. Plus I could totally rock some 50's fashion!

Here is an example that is definitely a throwback...I think this was 2007?
My first photo shoot ever, actually.

Photobucket

5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
I was never one of those kids that got emotionally attached to toys or blankies, but I do remember having a pretty sweet record collection at four years old, and I would rock out to Elvis e'rday.

6. What is your favorite housecleaning chore?
Organizing, because it leaves you feeling uncluttered, cleansed, and doesn't involve cleaning products, scrubbing, or dirt and grime.

7. Do you Twitter?
I used to think it was only for people that wanted the world to know when they took a poo, but now I love connecting with all my bloggy friends, and being able to connect with everyone quicker than just blogs and emails! Wanna chat? @janna_renee

8. Any goals?
My only goal at the moment is to get through this deployment as quickly as possible, but I would like to find a career that I can do from home. I know we all want that, but pretty soon I will share my reasoning! You might be surprised.

9. What is the ugliest car you've ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?
Well, when I was younger and vain, I'm talking Elementary school, my dad was redoing an old Ford pickup. We called it the "Truck of many colors", and when he pulled up to my school I would slink out embarrassed. My dad would laugh because he knew it was only a matter of time before I changed my tune. Let me tell you, to this day when I see that truck on the streets of Pensacola, I swell with pride that my daddy created that masterpiece. He's done it twenty times over and will continue to make pearls out of sand, but more importantly, he taught me that there is nothing in this world to be ashamed of. It's simply our responsibility to leave this world a little bit more beautiful, if we so choose.

I probably sound super corny, but this is me, so take it or leave it! I used to try to sound a little more "normal", but normal just isn't me ;) I am an English major who enjoys reading and writing, but I'm not perfect with grammar, so don't be all judgy.

One last thing, I am guest posting for Nikki @ My Life My Way, and am sharing how I live My life, MY way. I was "supposed" to do a lot of things so far in life, but I said eff that!
Go check it out, and you may learn something new about me...Like how I was "supposed" to take over the family business and DIDN'T. Dunh, dunh, DUNH.

Everyone kick off your weekend right, and remember:
Don't Worry, Be Happy!

I Was Once A Sorority Girl

Guess what I got last week? FOUR awards!
{And yes, I still get excited. Don't judge.}
KenzieLauran, and Nikki all thought of me, and I'm honored.
Today, I'll share the two that I haven't received before, and nominate a few lovelies.

Seven + Four= Eleven Facts:
[1] I have so many clothes, that I have a dedicated "closet room".
[2] I probably have over a hundred pairs of shoes.
[3] However, I do not obsess over clothes or shoes. Anymore, that is.
[4] I'd rather purchase things for our house. I've been in a nesting phase for the last two years.
[5] I also love grocery shopping...Not sure why, but I could spend hours in a grocery store.
[6] My first "on the books" job, was as a Cookie girl in the mall.
[7] I could never be in a scary movie because I can't scream. Like seriously, my voicebox or wherever screams come from, doesn't work.
Since you may find those boring, I'll jazz up the last few:
[8] I got to go shopping with the All American Rejects credit card one time. See...I used to be cool.
[9] I was once featured in a local magazine ad.
[10] I was on 20/20.
[11] I sound famous, but really I am unfamously famous ;)

Has it really been four years since I graduated?
Holy cow.
Um...please go check it out and make me feel better about this. Haha.

Sunshine Award

My fellow Military Spouse Kathryn tagged me in this, and it definitely brought sunshine to my day!

Favorite color:
ALL thing green, but Teals and Aquas soothe my soul.

Favorite number:
I played one of those old school fortune-teller-in-a-box machines and he told me that 4, 7, and any combination of the two are my lucky numbers.

Favorite non-alcoholic drink:
Agua.
I seriously love it. It is my go to beverage, and is usually only substituted with coffee and tea, which I  make with water.

Facebook or Twitter:
Can I say neither and choose Blogger?
I mean, I enjoy the other two, but not near as much as I enjoy blogging.

My passion:
The best answer I can give is life.
There were times when I was passionate about singing, ballet, art, school, becoming "successful", etc., but now- it can't be narrowed down as easily.  I am passionate about my family, my blog, making my house a home, taking care of my puppy dog and most importantly- supporting my soldier.
Oh, and travel, definitely travel.

Favorite animal:
My puppy <3 DUH!

Getting or giving presents:
Giving for sure, and am very proud to say-  I am told... that I give the most thoughtful presents!

Favorite pattern:
Can I say lace?
Whether it's real lace or a pattern on cloth- I love it!

Favorite day of the week:
Friday, when I actually have the weekend off, but lately I work everyday.
Makin' that $$$!

Favorite flower:
Hydrangeas like the ones that grew in my grandmother's garden...

Now I tag:
Blog Bestie: Desiree @ Mama And Her Boys
Blog Twin: Sarah @ Simply Sarah Chic
Blog Big Sis: Pinky @ P!nk Persistence
Blog lil' Sis: Anna @ Owls and Lace
And one more for good measure:
New inspiration: Tiffany @ All Because Two People Fell In Love

If you visit ^these ladies, you WILL NOT be disappointed!
They brighten up my life on a DAILY basis!

Today- I am OFF!
I hope to get a LOT of blogging done today, because it is my ONLY day off for two weeks. Yikes!  (Let's hope they don't schedule me as much as they said they would.)
Either way- I'll take the extra cash and keeping myself busy.
As for today- RELAXATION!
I might not even leave my bed...well, except for to eat and play with the puppy.
Love you all!

Kreativ Blogger & Accent Vlog

Miss Pinky, also tagged me in a post this post week, and I am pretty dang excited to share!  I didn't necessarily get tagged in the accent vlog, but thought it was too fun not to try.

The instructions are to say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught.

And then answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV Channel?

C'mon...you know you wanna do it ;)

PLEASE forgive me for all the "ums" I used...obviously I was nervous. I also blame it on the fact that I was looking at a split screen...I recommend writing everything down for easier reading.

Then home girl gave me the Kreative Blog award, which I am pretty excited about!
I'm sure you have already come across her blog, because she's pretty awesome, but just in case-

Here are the rules for the award:
1} Link back to the person who gave you this award.
2}Complete the form.
3}Award 5 blogs and let them know in a comment or email.
4} Share 7 random thoughts about yourself.

The form:

1} Name your Favorite Song:
Phil Collins "In The Air of The Night".
Only because it was my favorite when I was little and my daddy would crank it in the 'Stang on the way to school every morning. Good memeories.

2} Name your favorite dessert:
I actually don't like having 'dessert' because I am full after I eat.
I do love sweets on their own, and my go to would be carrot cake.

3} What ticks you off?
Disrespectful people.

4} When I'm upset:
I try to talk myself out of it.  I think about all the good things in life and why I shouldn't be wasting my time on negativity that gets you nowhere.  Especially when it comes to Will,  I ask myself: "Is this worth being angry?  Wouldn't I rather cuddle with him and talk it out at some point?"
5} What's your favorite pet?
Our 'son' Weiser. He is the first animal that I have connected with on this level. I did have a little white dog when I was little, but it got puppy-napped, which is probably why I didn't get attached to any other family pets.

6} Black or White? .
Neither really, but white if I have to choose.

7 }Biggest Fear:
The unknown and change.  They are silly things to fear, but I guess you might say I have control issues.  I just like having some semblance of control and feeling the ground under my feet.  I've only recently begun to understand that your favorite products get discontinued, your favorite restaurant may close, styles change and that people change, but it doesn't always mean the world is ending.

Seven random  thoughts about me pictures:
I think that I have given away enough tidbits lately, so I am revising.

To change it up- I went through my phone and picked every 7th photo to Instagram.  This was great
because I ended up posting pictures that I probably wouldn't have shared otherwise.

1} This is how Will fell asleep last night.  He was nuzzling, and the next thing I knew-
he was OUT!

2} His grandma in Ohio MADE us these...They are awesome!

3}  My co-worker turned 21 and we all had a blast!
Laughter is the best sign of life.

4} I always take pictures of my outfit.  They just don't make it off my camera/phone.

5} This is "our" spot.  It's a random field adjacent to the dog park, where we can let
Weiser run and have a leisurely walk.

6} This is a "crustless pizza" that does have a crust, it's just made out of cauliflower.
I made it for Will's birthday dinner!
I will have to pass along the recipe soon!

7} Will doesn't like cake or most sweets, so I made him Blueberry pastries.
Safeway had a sale on blueberries, so I threw this together and it was de-lish!

The blogs I would like to pass the Kreativ Blogger award to are:

1} Sarah @ Simply Sarah

2} Desiree @ Mama And Her Boys

4} Michelle P. @ Making Sense of Cents

5}  Steph @ The Sweet Life

Some of these ladies are like sisters to me, some dear friends already and some new interests of mine...That means you need to CHECK'EM!!

I can't wait to get through this week, to get to our weekend getaway BUT I want time to stand still because I don't want Will to deploy :(  I think for the first time ever- I am truly cherishing each and every day.  You should too <3

Versatile Blogger Award!

So the other day, I saw this award, and thought "Hmm...what a cool award! I wish I had gotten it." Then yesterday, I get a message from my Blog Twin Sarah over at Simply Sarah and, low and behold, she awarded it to me!  I already think she is amazing, so this is just icing on the cake ;)
If she hadn't already been nominated, she would be on the top of my list, so make sure you check out her blog!

Ok, now for the rules-
* Nominate 15 fellow bloggers
* Inform them of their nomination
* Share 7 random things about yourself
* Thank the blogger who nominated you
* Add the Versatile Blog Award picture on your blog post

You simply MUST check these ladies out!
1. Ashley @ WanderlustMe
2. Amanda @ Marshalls Abroad
3. Ashley @ Sloanbook
4. Courtney @ From Here To Eternity...
7. Erin @ Every Branch
8. Bon Bon @ The Whim Wham Life
9.  Meg @ Mackey Madness
10. Sierra @ Ocean Dreams
12. Alycia @ Crowley Party
13. Kandice @ Here We Are
15. Emily @ meme & he
My random facts in Sometimes & Always form, because I'm creative like that:

1. I LOVE to grocery shop.
Sometimes: I walk into the store for one item.
Always: After that 2 hours I might walk out with a car load or I may still only get that one thing, but I know it was 2 hours well spent.

2. I HATE when people use "seen" when they should be changing the tense to "saw".
Sometimes:  I don't care to be a grammar nazi, so I don't speak out against it.
Always: My biggest pet peeve is triggered when people make this simple mistake, and it sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me.

3. I don't like to drink.
Sometimes: I think a pina colada or a glass of Sangria sounds yummy.
Always: My stomach tell me no, and this makes my husband and his buddies happy, because they always have a D.D.

4. I HAVE to wash my face twice a day.
Sometimes: I don't wash it right away in the morning.
Always: It's washed as soon as I get home.  I don't wear foundation or even powder, but there is just something about that clean feeling and I can't  stand to have a dirty-from-the-day face.

5. I went to a preschool that had a petting zoo.  No lie.
Sometimes: I didn't go to daycare much when I was little, because my grandmother took care of me.
Always: When my grandmother would take me by this preschool every now and then I loved to play with the kids, and more importantly, the animals.

6. I have an entire closet ROOM and over a 100 pairs of shoes.
Sometimes: People would probably assume that I am materialistic or high maintenance after seeing my closet room.
Always: I actually spend less money than Will does. I just shop on sale and buy classic pieces that don't go out of style. I used to shop A LOT, but now I have a lot better things to do with myself ;)

7. I have sung in two bands and joined in with several others.
Sometimes: I wish that I had gone farther with my voice.
Always: I realize that it was a fun dream, but not so realistic.  I'll simply remember that those were great times that I will be happy to relay to my grandchildren.

And a bonus, triggered by the hubs:
I smile from ear to ear when Will pulls me to him and says "Mine."  Yes, it's kind of caveman-ish, but I don't care since I am, after all, completely his forever and always...Don't hate me because I am head over heals; I can't help it.

I wish I could give each and every one of you a blog award, but in due time that just might happen!
*hinthint* The more awards I get, the more you will get.
j/k   sortof  ;)
