NINE Months, What??

Cheesy, I know, but I guess I'm just feeling pretty strong and ready for this baby. Well, as ready as I'll ever be, which is good considering she's practically here. I'd like her to cook as long as possible, but I am starting to feel antsy about meeting her ;) It's funny, I told the kiddos I was watching that I would bring her over after she's born so they can meet her, and Jackson chimed in with "Uh...we've kinda already met her." Man, leave it to a ten year old to put me in my place. I do feel like I already know her and I think it's cute that it's possible for others to feel that way too. She really is quite the character already.

In other news, at nine months pregnant I'm officially a SAHW again. Technically I'm almost a SAHM now, but I think she actually has to go through the birthing canal before that applies. Anyhoo, we got word this weekend that ten people had to be cut from the Fort Rucker exercise I was supposed to work in two weeks. They took volunteers, but obviously everyone wanted to work. I knew that it wouldn't really be fair for me to take a spot when there was no guarantee that I would even make it to the middle of June before labor {let alone all the way to July}, so I didn't make the cut. I'm a little sad because it's a super fun job, I love the people I work with, and who doesn't want to make easy money, but in the grand scheme of things it was really bad timing and I already had that in the back of my mind. I still plan to get as much done in the next two weeks as I can because who knows when little miss thang will decide to make her appearance, but at least I won't be feeling the pressure.

Speaking of which, you can find the bumpdate on the baby blog, and these are the questions on my mind right now. Questions This Month:
Have you tried Amazon Mom?
How many bottles does one need to start out with if you plan on breastfeeding?
What are you tips for last minute baby preparation?
What was in your hospital bag?

Nine months, holy cow! It seems like yesterday I was just getting the text and going, 'oh em gee, yay'!!! You are looking great --loved your post on Friday-- and I am antsy about meeting lil C, too! Like, I so can't wait for you to be a mama :)!

No tips from knowledge but I did hear stretchy pants and tops for your to wear on your way home is the way to go :)!

You look so good! :)
We had a ton of bottles even when I tried to breastfeed. We had at least 8 just because we hated having to clean a bottle every single time. You will want your husband to be able to feed her, so maybe start with 3 and add a couple here and there.
I LOVE AMAZON MOM! I am just obsessed with Amazon as a whole so I might be biased.
As for the hospital bag - pack lightly! Wear their mesh undies, take home their pads and spray bottle (this will all make sense the minute you check into your labor and delivery room), take a cotton robe that is very comfortable! I lived in my robe and pajama pants while in the hospital because it was easy to nurse but still modest if you have visitors. If a robe isn't your thing - get some loose fitting tank tops that are nursing friendly. If you can imagine you will be nursing A LOT! I just don't recommend anything tight because you don't want tightness on your tatas because they hurt, nothing tight on your eh-hem because it hurts. A phone charger, a pillow for your husband, a few snacks for you and the husband, toiletries, SOCKS with the scuff padding so you don't slip or house shoes, ONE outfit for the baby because they poop and pee so much an outfit every day isn't necessary, a couple of your own swaddle blankets because it will help getting the nurses to teach you with your own blankets. That's about it! You are almost there! (TAKE HOME EVERYTHING YOU CAN FROM THE HOSPITAL!) :)

You look awesome!! The last month was my favorite month of pregnancy :)

1. Never tried it, but if you do, I'd love to read a review.
2. I was given 4 small, 3 tall and 3 wide mouth Dr. Brown Bottles. I feel like that is too much for us. Honestly, one of each would have been fine. He only takes bottle at daycare and I nurse every other time he wants to eat.
3. Make sure you fridge and pantry are stocked with your go-to snacking foods. Once I started nursing, I ate us out of house and home. I was SO HUNGRY ALL OF THE TIME.
4. I used everything the hospital gave us and only brought the essentials - toiletries, change of clothes, phone charger. Justin brought a pillow, toiletries, change of clothes and some snacks. That's it. We were out of the hospital 24 hours later and I didn't need anything I didn't have.
P.S. Take a nursing cami and nursing pads instead of a nursing bra. They are more comfortable and easier to use when you have to pull a boob out every hour for a nurse to check their latch.

Woohoo you are in the home stretch!! Sorry about the job, but you are right--you never know why Charlie will make her appearance, so you don't want to be stressed about not being able to finish the job instead of enjoying that precious baby!

I can't believe you are already at 9 months! You look great!! We just use Amazon Prime - not Mom. Not sure the difference is too big. We only had the one bottle to start off with associated with my pump. I did not create a freezer stash of milk though. I'd say no more than 2 to 4. Last minute baby prep? Wash everything - clothing, bottles, binkys if you plan on using them. As for your hospital bag.. pack your baby book! Our hospital stamped her foot right into the pages of my baby book. Otherwise our hospital provided everything baby wise.. so just worry about yourself for the most part. I'd recommend headbands or something to keep your hair back, slippers and your own pillow. So excited she will be here before too long!

For your hospital bag I would just pack any toiletries you need and loosefitting clothing especially nursing bras and nursing tank tops. I was convinced I was having a natural vaginal birth and unfortunately my little guy arrived four weeks early and I was rushed to the hospital and ended up having an urgent C-section. I just used the underwear that the hospital provided but something to think about is being prepared once you come home as well. I ended up having to make a quick run to Walmart for huge oversize underwear because all of the underwear I had caused me pain. I had bought a little looser fitting underwear for after the delivery but that was when I thought I was having a vaginal birth. After the C-section I needed underwear that was a little bit high-rise so that I could come above the C-section and also be loose. It's completely up to you if you want to be the type to prepare for any of those what if situations. I didn't want to prepare for a C-section because I was convinced that I wasn't having one and figured if I thought I wasn't, then I wouldn't. Looking back now I just made things more difficult because I needed to make a stop at the store when I was in a lot of pain.
As for bottles we started out with three but then I ended up buying three more because I hated having to wash them so frequently. He gets a bottle at least once a day because he takes a multivitamin and he refuses to take it straight so we have to mix it with my breastmilk. It's also nice because my husband can feed him which helps with bonding. Or for those days when I just want to go to bed early, sleep in a little bit, or take a nap he can feed him with a bottle from the breastmilk I have stored. Our NEX had a large variety pack of the Dr. Browns bottles significantly cheaper than any other stores so I would check your PX :)
Best of luck mama!!!! I hope you get the delivery you want and I can't wait to see pictures of your little girl!!!

Hi Jana

I've been reading your blog for so long and I've never commented before but my new years resolution was to say nice things when I thought them sooooo here goes. I just wanted to say thank you. I'm quite a few years older than you but I still find inspiration and motivation from you and the stories that you tell on here all the time. Obviously it's never a full story and you have the same challenges that everybody does but I love the way that you are such a nice, positive person and so giving but still express your self exactly as you choose to and live life by your design and nobody elses. Those are things that I struggle with but they're such important parts of being happy. I love the way you can be in love the way you are and express it so openly and freely whilst still be nothing less than an independent, kick ass chick! I hope I can be like that when I grow up! hahahaha (I'm 37!)

I wish you so much luck and happiness for the next stage of your life and again, thank you for sharing your stories.

Woo hoo to being in the home stretch! I'm sure you can't wait to meet her! I started off with 4-6 bottles when Lucas was born. I wasn't sure which way we were going to end up going. I LOVE the Dr. Brown bottles! They are sometimes a pain to clean, but they were awesome and both kids loved them as well.
For my hospital bag, the one thing I couldn't live without was a pair of black sweatpants and a loose tank top. I picked black because then I wouldn't worry about ruining them and the tank top was awesome for skin to skin and breastfeeding.
Oh and eat something before you head to the hospital to have her. Once you are admitted they won't let you eat anything, so try to remember to eat something. I did do amazon mom and I loved it. Especially for the diapers. I never ran out and it was awesome to not have to try and remember to get them from the grocery store. Plus the savings was awesome.
I'm so excited for you!!!!!
