Proud To Be Booker T. Alum

I am happy to say that I am back in Will's arms where I'm meant to be, and I came home to a {mostly} clean house, which is always a nice surprise. I wish I could say I was rested, but last weekend was go, go, go with all the graduation festivities. Whodathunk that after ten years, I would barely remember how stressful that process was? As a matter of fact, this whole thing was a trip down memory lane, and quite fitting that my baby brother's graduation coincides with my ten year reunion from the very same school. Go Wildcats!

As per usual, I turned to Pinterest to create the BEST grad gift, and even got video proof of it's awesomeness. You know how videos don't always get much love on Facebook? This one got a share, comments, and 50 likes! Just watch...

**Tear **Obviously, we gave him lots of advice to go along with the mucho dinero this weekend, but the fact that the following bit allowed me to share a picture of my uncle's cop car made it perfect. In the words of my Prius driving- Chief of police- Uncle...If you drink, you better not drive, Marc. We are all pretty proud of you {4.26 GPA}, so make sure you don't forget to use that brain. We hope that all the graduating seniors have a SAFE and happy summer! Safety first, my friends...safety first.

Uncle Robert says that it goes fast, but since he's the Chief of Police, I doubt he's been in 'hot pursuit' anytime recently. If you ever get a ticket by a cop in a Prius, I will totally laugh at you.
You have been forewarned.

Other than leaving my hanging bag with all my dressy clothes at home, the weekend went off without a hitch. I got creative with accessories and put my energy into supporting my brother instead of worrying about what I was wearing. Plus, now I am packed for our next trip to Pensacola. It looks like we will be going back sooner than I thought because we may or may not be buying a house. Have any of you bought a house as an investment to rent out and/or have any of you used a VA loan? I want all the pros and cons I can get!

Your gift is pretty fabulous!!! Props to you for being so creative!!!
We just bought our first house and used a VA loan to do so. It was the easiest process ever and had no issues. Everything for us was done over the phone bc we were in one state and the home we were buying was in another state. I would do it all over again. It was a quick process as well.
The only thing I will mention to keep in mind is using a VA loan means they have to approve the home, not just the loan amount. EX: there was a house we really liked but the VA would not support the loan. Meaning there had to have been something wrong with the home. Any were from structure, pricing, year, build, ex. So we had to move on from that one. Our thoughts were if the VA will not support a home, its best to stay away bc the problems behind it could be more than we would be willing to take on. Hope that helps and makes sense. If you have any other questions fill free to ask and I'll try my best to help :)
Good Luck and Happy House Hunting (if that's the way you guys decide to go)

Congrats to your brother, what a fun gift!! No joke every time I am driving behind a Prius on the highway I curse "F**ing Prius" because they are so dang slow. Too funny the Chief of Police drives one. Good luck on the house hunt!

We bought two houses with the VA loan (one we rent in NC and the one we will in now). It is a really wonderful incentive and as long as you can rent it out- it is worth it!

Congrats to your brother! And it makes me laugh so hard seeing a Prius as a cop car... does it even go fast enough to keep up with a pursuit?!

Congrats to your brother!!! What a smarty pants. We got our house with a VA loan. There is a 6k or so fee so be prepared for that-they just tack it onto your loan. It's a really great opportunity. The house has to be VA approved and they have certain guidelines that must be met. If you get good renters you are golden!!! If you get bad ones it sucks obviously. I'd say make sure you can afford to pay the mortgage even if you don't have a renter so it's less stressful. Also, if you hire a property management company do your research there as well. Some of them are REALLY bad.

Tell me your Uncle isn't the Chief of Police here in Pensacola? I would die if I got pulled over by that car!

Congrats to your little brother! What an awesome gift that you made him. I definitely wouldn't mind getting that ha ha.
That is too funny that your uncle's cop car is a Prius. I would die if I got pulled over by one!
