Stuff You Didn't Know You Didn't Know.

Yesterday, as I was laying around blogging away I got THE best phone call.
It was Grandma telling me that she went in for her check up and is now Cancer free!!
After Cancer, surgery, and a bad fall last year, we can all breathe easier.

The rest of this post was actually inspired by an email from my Daddy, titled "Stuff You Didn't Know You Didn't Know". Gotta love those chain emails that are still getting around. Usually I don't even open them, but for once, I'm glad I did. You don't know it, but you will be too. Hehe

The cost to raise a medium size dog to eleven: $16,400
Intelligent people have more Zinc and Copper in their hair.
{My hair is a copper-ish color...Does that count?}
The first novel ever written on a typewriter, Tom Sawyer.
If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died because of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
A group of frogs is called an army.
Q. What do bullet proof vests, fire escapes, and windshield wipers all have in common?
A. All were invented by women.

Doesn't that make you feel dumb?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I'm going to share a few random facts about myself that you didn't know you needed to know.
I'm too cheap to use the heater in the winter.
I'm a budget nazi, but I always budget money to travel. That is the only thing I don't feel guilty about spending money on. Well, that and groceries.
Speaking of which, I'd rather shop for groceries than clothes.
I have a college degree, but still choose to work in the hospitality industry {at least for now}.
I drive a truck, and it's a manual.
 photo IMG_2329_zps77407517.jpg
I have a religious skin care regimen because my face looks like a pizza otherwise.
I fluctuate in weight daily. It's about a five pound range, but it is really annoying.
My house is {mostly} clean. We maintain, but I am not OCD about it.
I don't consider myself materialistic, since I have done a no-spend challenge for a year, but somehow we have a two tv's, three laptops, a Kindle, and a Tablet. Excessive.
I am not tech savvy in spite of all the electronics in our house.
I find that "fake it till you make it" is the best way to solve a problem.
Sometimes I'm funny, and sometimes...well...I'm just not.
{It's okay to have a funny side and a serious side, right?}
This is probably why I'm good at sarcasm, but can't tell a joke to save my life.
There you have it.
A lot of useless information that you didn't know that you didn't know!
Enjoy the rest of your day ;)
That's great news about your grandma! And for the most part, I'm majorly into saving money. I really save money in the electronics department. My computer is 5 years old and our tv was a hand-me-down given to us for free. :) But I do save money so that we can afford to travel. And that pays off because we're going to the other side of the world this summer!
YAY for your grandma that's such awesome news!!! I am the same way, I am great with sarcasm but can't tell a joke to save my life. I can totally picture you driving a truck too! :)
So glad to hear your grandma is cancer free, woo hoo!!
We have quite a bit in common ha ha! I would rather shop for groceries than clothes too, I freaking love food. I'm surprised I don't look like Shamu with how much junk I eat.
I've been known to drive trucks that are manual (we go through vehicles crazy fast), but my favorite truck we have, that we won't ever get rid of, is a '68 F250 that's manual.
My weight fluctuates daily and irritates the heck out of me.
I totally agree with "fake it til you make it".
Have an amazing day!
Is it weird that the fact that you drive a manual truck makes me like you even more? Probably. Manual is WAYY better though. Fake it til you make it is the best theory. Feel free to be my budget nazi!
Awesome news about your grandma!! And some of those fun facts you shared were quite interesting.
Also love that for now you work in the hospitality industry even though you have a college degree... cause I still am doing the same thing with a college degree and a law degree... just haven't found the right other job yet!
Your grandma beating cancer is awesome. So happy for her and your family. I am also sort of a budget nazi in my house. Don't get me wrong. I've loosened the wallet but I make sure that all our ducks are in a row first. My weight fluctuates to and I HATE it.
Yay Grandma! Way to kick cancer's a$$!
Let's talk about that statue business. What the? I didn't even know!
Now, I did know you were sarcastic (though I don't think that was a "stuff you didn't know" info)...
And my sister and used to wear two layers of sweats in the winter because we didn't want to pay the heating bill. Totally relate.
Hooray for your grandmother! What wonderful news!
A group of frogs is called an army?! That's amazing!
I can't believe it costs that much to raise a dog! Yikes! Let's just pretend I didn't learn that information, haha!
I have a college degree and a year of grad school and I'm a nanny. And you know what, I. LOVE. IT. :) I am a big believer in loving what you do even if it means that you don't get paid as much as you could elsewhere. There is just so much more to life than money/power/prestige. :)
Rach said...
OH! And I wasn't trying to say that you don't make great money!! I was talking about my choice to be a nanny instead of having a career in the business world. I know you make a killing on tips! ;)
"Intelligent people have more Zinc and Copper in their hair." -- My boyfriend is bald though... LMAO!
Yeap, we leave our heater on at 60 degrees in the winter, too. I don't complain about it b/c I rather get a blanket than pay extra. LOL!
I miss my little pick up truck.. love the bench seat so much!! they should have that in cars!!
love your sarcasm. no wonder why i like you lots! ;)
