Happy "Big Game" Day

It's quite sad that I could probably get arrested for saying the word that you already know I am speaking of. It's almost like a "He who must not be named" thing.

Anywhoo, I hope that you are all having a fabulous Sunday and are ready for all the nonsense today!

            I kid, I KID!

I happen to know quite a few LOVELY Giants fans.  Patriots...I plead the 5th ;)

Don't get your panties in a twist either way, though.  I don't have a team, and I'm not going to be a bandwagon jumper today.  I will pick a team to root for, but c'mon...You know it's all about the commercials and half time show anyways!

Don't argue. You know it's true ;)

Just make sure you come back tomorrow because there will be a VLOG and I will reveal where I will be guest posting.  I will make sure that you have a GREAT Monday!
Other Advice for a good Monday: Drink LOTS of water if you are going to be enjoying some adult beverages and make sure you have a DD.  Safety first people!
Hasta mañana!

Inspiration Friday

I can't believe that I have almost made it through this week!

Considering I needed a vacation from our staycation, got some kind of bug, had to go into work early several days, trained some new employees on top of normal duties and still have the longest day of my week ahead of me- I'm in pretty good spirits.  I guess seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is enough to get me through ;)

Photobucket

I'm going to be a little vague in my inspiration, because it involves something I am doing this weekend that I may or may not be able to share.  IF what I'm doing turns out- I can't WAIT to share, but IF it's only ok, then I will spare you.  I'm only lookin' out for you ;)

Confused? Good.

I am now praying that my drive to work looks like this:

I don't mind the snow if it's manageable and sunny, but as of right now the news is telling us to stay home.  Unfortunately, that is not an option,
soooo wish me luck!

Now go check out Sarah's blog and feel free to link up...
I think we all could use a little inspiration to get us through Fridays!

Stay-Cation

~Helloooo Denver weekend getaway~

We have lived in Colorado for over a year, and other than day trips, we have yet to explore Denver.  When I heard that Atmosphere, was coming to town, I knew we just had to go up for Will's birthday. Then, on top of that, I found a Groupon for a Bed and Breakfast, and thus weekend plans were established.

Last Friday is when the fun began!
We had a pleasant drive up, since I totally played hooky from work and then got a hotel with our friends Lysa and Brandon. Aren't they so cute?

The venue was outdoors and nestled between incredible rock formations, which as you can guess, made it a very cold Colorado concert!  It was the first EVER winter concert at Red Rocks, so we came prepared! That involved bundling up (most donned their ski gear), snuggling close and using many of these >>>
I must say- I was pretty worried about freezing my tukas off, but I'm not sure if the weather was more pleasant than expected or the concert took my mind off of the cold...Either way, let's just say we would all brave the cold again in a heartbeat for that show!

Day 2 of Denver, we checked into the Queen Anne Urban Bed & Breakfast
-and it was just as cool as it sounds.

The Denver Art Museum took up most of our time that day, but I will show you pictures of that soon.  I believe that it is worthy of it's own post, and this one's going to be long enough as it is.

I love how the mountains are the background of the city...

After a quick nap we continued the fun, by perusing the Cherry Creek Mall-> we're talkin' Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Nordstrom AND Anthropologie.  I promised Will dinner at Kona Grill afterwards, so he was happy to oblige.

By the third day, we realized that we can't hang as well as we used to, and coffee was SO necessary!

We had one last day, and we hoped to make the most of it!

(I snuck in a little more shopping)

And then to top the weekend off- we had no choice but to gorge ourselves make a visit to BENIHANA'S!!!

We may or may not have brought four orders of fried rice home to freeze for later enjoyment.
Don't judge.

All in all, it was an AMAZING weekend with the hubs.  If only we could have taken the pup.
We missed him terribly <3

Well, I guess that's enough for today ;)
I have to go to work early, but it's almost Friday, y'all!
Woohoo!

Exemplar: Perception Is Everything

In case you have ever wondered what my title denotes or you simply need some inspiration....

"In Washington DC, at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, a man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After about four minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule. About four minutes later, the violinist received his first dollar. A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk. At six minutes, a young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again. At ten minutes, a three-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time. This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent - without exception - forced their children to move on quickly. At forty-five minutes: The musician played continuously. Only six people stopped and listened for a short while. About twenty gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32. After one hour: He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed and no one applauded. There was no recognition at all. No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music. This is a true story. Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the D.C. Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities. This experiment raised several questions: In a common-place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? If so, do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context? One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made… How many other things are we missing as we rush through life?"
