Now that I don't feel like I'm dying anymore, let's recap a perfect Valentine's Day that I didn't think was going to happen. I didn't tell y'all because the internet wasn't hooked up yet, but last Wednesday was the anniversary of the day we began dating and our proposal. We usually do dinner, cards, and such, but this year the 'rents were in town and we had a million things going on. I got him a card, and he got me a big fat nothing because he didn't remember. I didn't make a big deal about it, but I definitely let him know that I was disappointed.
Cue to Valentine's morning, and I woke up half expecting a card, flowers, or some other indication that he didn't forget. Instead, he comes in, mumbles happy Valentine's Day, and asks if I want to do anything tonight. Ummmmwhaaaaa? I was instantaneously PISSED. He forgot Wednesday, put ZERO effort into VDay, and expected ME to come up with some type of plan as an afterthought? I think not. I sat there boiling and unwilling to say anything, but as I usually do when I'm mad, I typed it up in an email and sent it to him. This may seem strange, but I can be more clear, honest, and not so mean if I communicate via written word in moments of anger. You could say it's our 'love language'.
Guess who was trying to trick me and had everything all planned out? Guess who also learned that it's not a good idea to pretend like absolutely nothing was planned? That's right, sir William. He apologized for lending me to believe that he had forgotten, and {for once} he didn't give the surprises away, just told me to be patient. {For once} I was patient, and simply enjoyed the rest of the day. It wasn't extravagant, but it couldn't have been ANY more perfect. I guess you could say that the crisis was averted!
In other news, we hopped in the truck, and this post is coming to you live from Pensacola, Florida. Spending the weekend at home was definitely the icing on the cake, and we still have two days here. Cheers to the simple life, sweet tea, home-cooked meals, and front porch sittin'. The next two years are going to R-O-C-K.
How was your Valentine's Day?

quiet nights at home are awesome! Glad he had something planned. I totally feel ya on writing out your feelings. I get like that from time to time. It also helps me avoid a huge fight in the long run

Awwww boys, what are they thinking. Le Husband gave me a joke of a gift leaving me completely flustered this year haha. Glad you had a good Vday, love the set up he did.
I always read your blog but never post. But today I had to. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE your relationship. You two make it seem so wonderful to be in love. Thanks for the hope that real, true love is still out there!! :)
Bless your heart girlie! I do not blame you for being upset lord knows I would have been the exact same way as you were in that very moment.. Glad he actually did not forget either & had done had things planned out & that he also learned to give a little hint later on in the future that he didn't truly forget any of it :) Hope you both enjoy your little get away!

Aw what a sweetheart! And I totally communicate better via written word. I've got notes that I've never given people cuz it was just to get my aggression out ;)
What a nice setup. Glad he didn't really forget. Quiet nights at home are the best.
Well, I'm definitely glad he didn't actually forget to plan something! Much better to pretend than to not have anything at all.
On a completely different note: Do you know Jamie from You Gotta Have Hart? She lives in Pensacola too! :]
Aw how sweet that he had something up his sleeve :) It's always a great surprise!
Awwww, that's sweet!
Our Valentines was very uneventful!
Awww super sweet! I convey my thoughts and feelings best through written word as well. I am able to find the right words and the correct way to say them when I'm writing. Strange huh? I'm glad you guys are close enough to come home and enjoy some family time!!!!
Oy I think I need a nap because all I could think was Bazinga... lol :). So awesome he did that. My V-day and really our proposiversary date were all last minute thoughts. So happy you got tricked though!!
You shoulda known better!! That man would never forget about it. I am much better in writing then I am with words too! That's so cute how you go and type it up and send it to him. Whatever works! and glad V day turned out great.

Oh my gosh.... we've got the same love language! I have to text Eric because he never checks his email! But every random once in awhile we are sitting in the same room texting because if we speak aloud, things will get a lot meaner! And we always resolve it so much faster if we can type it out, HA!
What a great Valentines! I'm glad that life is SO good in Florida so far!
I love that his note says "and you thought I forgot..." haha! I'm glad the crisis was averted and that you guys had a good night together. :)
Absolutely so SWEET!!! What a heart Breaker!!!
