I'm Alive, But Just Barely.

I guess I jinxed myself by hoping I was on the down slope of the Flu because it only got worse. After the second time in four days that my fever had spiked to over 102, Will took me to the doctors. At first my doctor thought that it had progressed into an infection, since the Flu usually hits hard once, but he was just as surprised as we were to find that I was still just fighting the Flu.

Flu = 1 Janna = 0

They say you shouldn't take Tamiflu after the first two days because it won't work, but the doc prescribed it for me anyways. Thank goodness, because it finally knocked my fever out. To be honest, I think I got hit with the Flu twice, so technically I was taking it on the second bout. I was still weak and hacking up all weekend, so I was sick for a whole sucky week.

Moral of the story:
Take your dang Flu shot!

My man-nurse really was amazing, though. He was up and down the stairs constantly checking on me, he constantly refilled my drinks, he ran to the store for anything I asked, cooked me green beans because they were the only things that didn't taste metallic, and babied me to top it all off. I can honestly say he's seen me at my worst and still loves me. I can't wait to reward him when I'm well ;)

Needless to say, the week wasn't very exciting, and I was either sleeping or miserable. We did watch a few movies including Frankenweenie and Warrior. Frankenweenie was too scary for a Disney movie, in my opinion. Since when are Disney's animated films PG and scare adults? Okay, so maybe it just scared me, but still...Warrior was mucho better. It happens to be an awesome, inspiring story and doesn't have a completely predictable plot wrought with blood and guts like every other movie. Ladies, if you want to impress your husbands, rent Warrior for date night.

I now have to try to catch up with blogging, since I finally have the energy to open my computer. Please bare with me, as you know how it goes. Thanks for all the well-wishes too. It meant so much when I felt like I was dying and never going to get better. Don't think I'm kidding...Haha.

  10. Oh girl, I am so sorry you got it twice/extended. I finally felt totally better yesterday only to start feeling queasy later in the day. I was like 'Nooooooooooooooo' haha! But thankfully it hasn't progressed any. Still feel queasy, but nothing worse. And my poor husband got it from me, but he is finally mostly better today. Hopefully your sweet caretaker won't get it from you! Here's to hoping we are all on the mend!

    I cried A LOT during the Warrior movie. I just felt so bad for the dad even though I probably shouldn't have. And the ending? Ahhh, I was a mess.

  27. The Warrior was such a good movie, not to mention Tom Hardy was in it!! If you're a fan (or even if your not) I'd definitely recommend This Means War!! It appears to be more of a girly film but I convinced my man into watching and it was hysterical. My guy TRIED to hide some of his reluctant laughs in the beginning but we were both cracking up by the end of it!!
    Cute blog by the way!!
