Would You Think I Was Weird...

...If I told you that I didn't like to have fun without my husband?
For example, our friend Buck asked if I wanted to go snowboarding two weekends in a row, and I said no because Will couldn't go. Will told me I was silly to say no and that he wants me to go, but I just didn't have the desire to go without him.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this could be the last time I get to go this season. Who knows? With this Military life we lead, we could end up moving in a year's time, so this could be the last time for awhile. Or forever.

I am watching the sky turn pink after getting up at 6AM on this beautiful Springi-sh morning, and I am just going to go into the weekend with an open mind.

Life is full of opportunities. It is also full of missed opportunities. It is your choice.

This morning's opportunity is a run before work. I NEVER thought that I would be happy about getting up before the sun just so that I could go for a run. It's okay if you think I'm crazy. I still can't believe it. I think I'm going insane.

Okay, that's enough Philosophy for the day. How 'bout we all just have a great weekend?
Mmmmmkay?

Happy St. Patty's Day!

  1. I'm totally the same way. I like being able to share fun with my husband, and I almost feel guilty? when I'm out having fun while he's sucking out in the field (even though I know he doesn't care).

Also, this weather has been FANTASTIC. I've gone for runs, taken the pup to the dog park, switched my Starbucks drink over to passion tea lemonade.. Spring needs to stay put! I'm ready to wear cute dresses and sandals!

Have a fabulous weekend my dear!!

  2. LOOK at you running girl, I'm so proud of you!

I'm with you too, because I don't like hanging out without my fiance. Unless it's a girls night, those are always fun ;)

  5. I'm definitely with you on this. I can't tell you how many things I've said no to because Christopher couldn't come too. And like Will, Christopher always tells me that I should go and have fun. It's something I'm working on now. Saying yes to things even if he can't be part of it. I think it's totally okay to like the person you're married to and actually want them to be part of the fun in life. I am with you there. :)

  6. I don't think it's weird. That's how you make memories with your spouse. I went interval running on Monday for the first time in God only knows how long. It felt amazing. Although, this was a REALLY bad week to start.

  9. I don't think it's weird. You probably appreciate doing fun things together even MORE than other would. And you enjoy being with him. I think that's ok. :)

  10. I'm the same way - I don't like going and doing things without my boyfriend. I also feel the same way about my son, if we are doing something fun that he would enjoy I have to bring him!
That's the funny thing about exercise, it's addicting! So good for you for getting up this morning and going for a run!!
    Happy St. Patrick's Day, early!

  12. I totally get how it some things just aren't as appealing without your partner, but definitely right about seizing the day. Have a great weekend!

  13. That's not weird, it's sweet! I always feel bad for having fun without my hubby...especially if it's a work trip somewhere cool, and he doesn't get to come. I feel bad!

  14. I, too, have most fun without my husband. Nice to hear it from someone else. I always feel kinda bad about that for some reason. Your perspective and honesty is refreshing!

  15. I love to have fun with my hubby! Some things are just fun, but some things like I consider fun (like shopping at Goodwill haha), he doesn't. :-)

    Have a great weekend, girl!

  20. I agree with everyone else! I like sharing things with my man, but sometimes it simply isn't possible. Like when he's in the middle of a deployment! I just try to have fun and email him what it was like to see the sunk for example, and think of how thankful I'll be when I finally get to share something with him in person again.

  21. I'm the same way. It's not the same unless Mj can go too and I basically don't want to spend the money and go if he can't go along. Unless it's a girls trip to Vegas with someone super important to me like my sister. That is fine but I still miss him. I have to make myself do things without him because I really should.

  22. I'm very much like that, too! It depends on the activity and who I would be with, so sometimes I can be a little heartless, and be like, yeah, honey, have a great time at work, I'm going to a party! But it's more likely that I'd rather do anything with him than something fun on my own. That's why I'm so glad that we get to visit my home together this summer. I'm sure I would have still been happy to visit home on my own, but together will just make it so much better!

  23. So true about the opportunities. Your choice! It's good to be reminded of that.

  24. Lol! That yolo stuff cracked me up! I'm the same way about going out without my husband. It's just never as fun. Hope you have a great weekend love! :)

  25. Not weird! I am the same way (about my husband AND running). I will sit home an entire Saturday while he is gone instead of going out and having fun without him. Idk what it is!

  26. Haha I like the YOLO cards. I never knew who started it! And I prefer doing things with my husband but with his crazy schedule I kind of have to do things without him!

  27. I feel the same way, if you are weird, then so am I!

  30. I'm still not to the point of being happy to wake up early to exercise, but I totally get your wanting to exercise. It just makes you feel better!

  31. I kind of feel the same way. If my "person" cant go and have fun with me im way less likely to go. I want the memories but I want my person to be in those memories! Cant wait to catch up on the rest of your blogs! Lol
