Seriously BIG News!

You may have noticed that Fridays have been dedicated to "Fearless Fashion Fridays" recently. I am not a "fashionista" {I'm sure you've noticed}, but that's kinda what makes it fun. I am pushing the limits, trying new things, and getting my creative juices flowing.

As my juices were a'flowin', BAM I heard this song, and an idea was born:
Beware, this video contains language that may be unsuitable for small children and old women.
I mean that in the most loving way

First off, do you love that song or do you love that song??
I am OBSESSED.
Hubby even downloaded both of this dude's albums for me, and I love them both dearly. This song is on the goofy side, but his lyrics are pretty poignant and thought provoking in the rest. His second album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Charts, so obviously I'm not the only one that has been sucked in. Okay, so what does this have to do with fashion?

I'll tell ya...

We can all hit up the mall, scour the "it" boutiques, and shop online to find the newest fashion, but then you are a) wearing the same thing that SusieQ wore last week (having the same one as six other people in this club is a hella don't) b) spending enormous amounts of money (Yo- That's $50 dolla's for a tshirt...)  and c) there isn't that much creativity involved if you are just buying the "in" cookie cutter clothes. How 'bout we all think outside the box, get old skool wit'it, and THRIFT an outfit for Fearless Fashion Friday!

Yep, that's right!
I will be co-hosting with Kelly and Lindsey to bring you The Thrift Shop Edition of FFF. We don't care whether you use new thrifted finds, old thrifts, or raid the closet of your grammy, your aunty, your momma, your mammy...All that matters is that you come up with an outfit that is rockin' and NOT something you would find in Forever 21. {No disrespect. I love F21}

I wear your granddad's clothes
I look incredible
I'm in this big @ss coat
From that thrift shop down the road....

So who's up for the challenge?

  1. That sounds kinda cool--I love the concept of not wearing cookie-cutter, fashionable clothes, because that's pretty much my style anyways, but I have the hardest time with thrift shops in our area. People here do not give away clothes until they are completely worn out, it seems.

  4. Cute - one of my roommates in Germany is a HUGE thrifter, I'll have to ask her where she goes and see if I can come up with something :)

I've never thrift shopped for a 'non costume' so I'm a lil nervous, but will see what I can do!

Plus, they probably didn't like second hand stores anyway! I love the Thrift stores!! Looking forward to presidents day sale at the thrift store!! hehe.... =)
