But not because I'm in the dog house.
It's because the Bogert house is STILL overcome by Cold and Flu season.
Will has now come down with it, and I'm at the point where I can't stop coughing.
Will has now come down with it, and I'm at the point where I can't stop coughing.
I've been taking Motrin.
Eating Grapes {antioxidants}.
Drinking EmergenC.
Chugging fluids in general.
Working on extra sleep.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Cinnamon, and honey water.
Nyquil
Nyquil
And Vick's vapor rub.
The Motrin and Vick's have been the most helpful, but I cannot seem to be able to stop coughing in bed. My mom always propped me up to stop the coughing, but I just can't seem to prop the way she did, which is how I ended up on the couch. Ours has an awesome overstuffed, wide corner that is the perfect angle for propping, and thus it has been my bed for three nights. It's pretty comfortable, but I want to snuggle with my love. Plus I'm not particularly fond of being awoken at 4AM every morning when Will gets ready for work.
At least I'm getting reading time in...
Also, a word to the wise...MAKE sure you are taking daytime medicine in the day and nighttime at night. Yes, I know that is obvious, but I lost a box and had just the pills in the little pill sleeves, and boy did I guess wrong. I took a daytime before bed, coupled with Melatonin, and instead of sleeping- I felt like I was trippin'. My eyes wouldn't open and my body wouldn't move, but my mind was going nuts and I felt like my body was in a wave pool all night. Daytime Meds + Sleep Aid = DISASTER.
Well, have a good weekend party people.
We will celebrate if all this nonsense goes away!

ReplyDeleteHope everyone starts feeling better- being sick is miserable!
ReplyDeleteUgh that is never any fun. I HATE not being able to stop coughing. I'm glad you found something that works to help you. I've also found that eating ice chips while I'm having a coughing fit, or having hot water/tea before bed helps stop the coughs or keep them at bay.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys get all better soon!

ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better. I take that Desulm cough medicine when I get the dread hack. It works good. That may not be the right spelling but it's in the I feel like shit isle at the grocery!
ReplyDeleteIck. I remember Brady kept getting the cold on & off. It was getting ridiculous. Well, if you guys have snow like us here then I guess it's no biggy, right?
ReplyDeleteWell, seems like you already know how to take care of yourself... And that you two recover quickly!
Ugh, I was sick last week & it was so miserable. I hope you feel better soon! And I've totally switched up my meds before - but only because my mom gave me the wrong ones by accident! Ha!

cold/flu sucks... I recently got over a terrible, terrible sinus infection. Maybe try MUCINEX D? It might help with getting all that gunk out.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better (or you may feel better... I'm just 4 days late).
Haha! You would think you wouldn't have to tell people to take the appropriate meds at the appropriate times... but then there was that one time that I took a Nyquil just before going to a Christmas party because I didn't realize it was NYquil and not DAYquil. Yeaaah... that was a really strange experience. I felt like I was dreaming/sleep walking all evening at the party. Needless to say, we went home early and I crashed, ha! Anyway, I hope you guys both get better SOON!
ReplyDeleteHaha, my mom used to prop me up too, but I can't seem to master it. So a couple of weeks ago my whole body was all itchy and I was at work so I ran down to the gas station and bought some allergy medicine, I don't have allergies but I thought it might work, well apparently I am super sensitive or something because the rest of the day everyone kept laughing at me. I was trailing off and couldn't finish a sentence, they said it was pretty much like those youtube videos of people who are coming out of surgery! haha. Yeah....
