Just Call Me Miss Chloe!

An introduction won't do this video justice, so just watch...

I will keep you updated on who ends up being preggers ;)

Sometimes: I get crazy Deja Vu.
Always: When I get it, I can tell you what will happen next.
creepy.

Sometimes: I dream that I'm pregnant.
Always: So far it means that someone I know is pregnant.

Sometimes: I get bad vibes from people that others don't feel.
Always: Those people always end up being bad news.

Sometimes: People call me a witch because I was born on Halloween.
Always: I'm beginning to wonder myself...
kind of kidding.

Do you ever get Deja Vu or have strangely significant dreams?

Tell me about them, and then come back tomorrow for my newest endeavor!
It's fun and very dear to my heart.

Emergency! SOS!

What happened on Sunday:

Apparently, sometime since I switched to Google +

It switched me to a no-reply commentor!
Aaaaaaggggghhhh.

Between having the new layout of blogger and Google+, I am at a loss for how to fix it!
Who knows how or knows someone who knows someone?
I tried 5ohwifey's tutorial, but it doesn't work with the new dashboard...(that I can see).

As you know, this is a MAJOR emergency...like life or death. Haha.
PLEASE help!!

*UPDATE*
Hallelujah! We have solved the problem!
I was very thankful to  have so many lovelies try to help me, and between Miss Blake and this AMAZING how to (the update is what saved my life), I am officially back in action!

I am baffled that Google+ makes things like this so difficult, but all that matters is that it is fixed!
_______________________________________________________

I would link up my weekend, but I've gotten chastised for linking my boring weekends that consist of missing the hubby and DIY projects by a certain someone *winkwink, so I will just leave you with this:

Photobucket

I was voted "Best Buns" on Sunday night ;)
I'll share the rest another day.
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

"No Sex" Is A Great Form Of Birth Control

So you know how they ask you what form of birth control you use when you are getting your yearly PAP?
Well, my answer surprised the doctor.

I didn't plan on inspiring her fit of laughter by answering honestly, but the truth is that my form of birth control right now is "No Sex".
At the time, I didn't know that was such an outrageous response, but I guess it is among her married patients! Hey...I didn't choose for Will to be gone...haha.

I went back again Wednesday, and got some great news!
I still have to go to the Endocrinologist, but my hormone levels and Cholesterol are normal!
Last year I tested with high Cholesterol and hormone levels so low that I was considered infertile.
After a year of taking the right supplements and getting my body in balance, I seem to be all back to normal. Still not ready to have kids and still on the "No Sex" birth control, but the option is back!

Do you know Bethany?
I have been blogging buddies with her for quite some time, and she was the FIRST to send a Care Package to my hubby. Not that the girl needs any thanks (she truly acts from her heart), but I just HAD to participate in Operation Backpack with her.

Can you imagine being a child, and not having the utensils you need to learn?
It happens ALL the time, and I witness it first hand since my mom is a teacher.
It's not like it costs a lot to donate, and I happened to have ALL of this laying around already!
Whether you scrounge up some pens, raid the Target/Walmart sales, or even donate to the organization, ANYTHING will help.

Photobucket

Bethany, don't read this part, because it will be in your card, but I really wanted to share how amazing I think you are!

"Hello Beautiful!
Since you are so supportive of me, I had to send the love back! I am so proud of you and your big heart. It is so incredibly inspiring and makes me proud to call you a friend. Hopefully, one day I will be able to hug and squeeze you in real life! I love you and tell Shawn that I said hi!!

XOXO

Janna B."

 Just so you know, it is a PROVEN fact that you get more joy out of giving and donating than you do spending money on yourself. I'm just trying to help you feel better and experience the high of giving!
If you have any questions we will be happy to help you, and hope you all have a great weekend!

Twenty-Seven In Twenty-Seven!

Yes, my dears...this October, I will be TWENTY-SEVEN!
And yet, I still get carded for R-rated movies.

Erin from Living In Yellow just had a birthday, so she has now inspired us all to create our own list!
Ok, so I know that yesterday I said that I don't do goals or New Year's resolutions,
BUT I plan on making next year the BEST year of our lives, so I need a plan.
My wonderful-hunk-of-a-man, will be returning from nine miserable months in the sand box, so he deserves to have the most amazing year ever!

How does this plan sound?

1. Go to our first Homecoming Ceremony, and squeeze Will until someone pries me off of him!

I have watched hundreds of homecomings, and I ugly cry every.time.

2. Go home to Florida!
3. Spend Christmas with our families.
4. Go skydiving. My second time, his first.
5. Go on a balloon ride.
6. Go to Las Vegas.
7. Visit Will's grandparents in Ohio.
8. Camp in the Mountains.
9. Visit Royal Gorge and the bridge.

Photobucket

Our last trip to Royal Gorge!

10.  Start moon shinin'. Obviously, Will's idea, but I'm up for it!
PS. It's not illegal if it's for personal use. FYI.
11. Explore Denver more.
12. Take the motorcycle on an unplanned getaway. Just take off and go!
13. Make it to the top of the incline and go back up Pike's Peak.

my sexy man!

14. Figure out something fabulous to do for his birthday.
15. Enjoy my first birthday with him in three years. Damn training and war.
16. Go to Yellowstone.
17. Go to the Grand Canyon.
18. Take lots of picnics.
19. Get back to cooking, since I will have someone to cook for.
20. Read more.
21. Go snowboarding more.

Our first time snowboarding together

22. Take a dance class with Will.
23. Find a yoga class.
24. USE my Nike's
25. Get the Monte Carlo in top shape and do it together.
26. Work less, and dedicate myself to our year.
27. Enjoy the HELL out of MY husband. Excuse my french.

I'm working really hard this year for a reason, and that reason is that I don't want to have to stress about ANYTHING next year. I already promised Will that it will be the best year of his life, a dammit I meant it! I'm going to make sure that next year goes down in the record books. That's a promise.

What are you doing next year? Anyone wanna join the fun...you know where to find me!

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you that we just kicked off a sweet little giveaway on The Lovely Little Things! I'm giving away a cute little headband an necklace from my farmer's market, and there are some other prizes too!

Girl Behind The Blog- VLOG!

I love days that start with the letter V.
V as in Vlog-day!

5ohwifey

Today we share our goals with 5ohWifey and Lindsay, so that we can all continue to get to know each other! Have you recorded yours yet? If not, then get on it!
You can find my previous videos here, and without further ado...

Look, they are his and hers:
{without being matchy-matchaay}

Photobucket

In other news, Kelly is revealing the results of the Messy Challenge!
{Not to be confused with the Messy Project}
Many of us embrace her Messy Hair lifestyle, and you will get to see ALL of our messy hair over on Kelly's blog. Yes, I said messy hair, as in messy-dirty-hasn't been washed in a week- hair.
You may think we are crazy, but I can vouch that it helps your hair grow, is great for time, and even saves on your water bill.  I know you are curious, so head on over!

I'll leave you with a picture of my messy dirty hair:

Photobucket

That was after five or six days of no washing, and minimal handling.
Between that and the vlogs...this is going to be a goooood day.

PS. I'm adding one more surprise! Head over to our facebook page to find a vlog that Is dedicated to the Hubs! I promise that y'all will get a kick out of it.

Letting Go...

Raise of hands...Who else is as RIDICULOUSLY excited as I am that Meg's preggers?!
I have stalked been enamored with Meg and her hubby for quite some time, and I love that I get to be excited right along with them! Can you just imagine them as parents? Gets me all giddy!

Sometimes: People think it's weird to "meet" people online.
Always: Chat rooms, yes. Blogging, totally normal.

Photobucket

Sometimes: We ogle over everything at C&B, Anthro, and Pier 1.
Always: If you put the effort in, you can make/thrift decor that is just as cute!
You know how they say:
 "It's not the clothes that make the girl, it's the girl that makes the clothes..."?
I say, It's not the decor that makes the decorator, it's the decorator that makes the decor!

Sometimes: We get wrapped in all the commercialization.
Always: I'll keep my money in the bank, and have more fun thrifting!

Sometimes: We get wrapped up in material things period.
Always: It's OK to take a picture and let go...
These are small treasures, but it's time to de-clutter.

Photobucket

Sometimes: People cherish every artifact filled with memory.
Always: That's why there's a show called Hoarders.

We might move every three to five years for the next twenty years, so I'm definitely wanting to downsize. We filled the BIGGEST truck they had last move, and we have even more furniture now.
How do two twenty-somethings acquire this much?
No clue, but you better bet I'm going to get us in check by the next move.
If it's not nailed down, it's available!

Photobucket

Snag them for yourselves or Christmas is coming...
Send your boyfriends and husbands my way!
Otherwise, these babies are going on ebay for a few other lucky ladies Christmas presents.
Hillary, aren't you the ebay queen? Haha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You all know that tomorrow is the next installment of GBB, right?
I hope everyone has their videos ready.
I love Vlog days, so come back tomorrow!
From Clearance to Classy!
Today, I get to reveal what I have been working on, and finally finished this weekend!
And yes, Sami, this is my weekend update ;)
Photobucket
I think it turned out pretty cute!
I had initially bought the unit to go in the kitchen, but realized that it was too big for what I needed. It had been a clearance item ($9.99 woohoo!), so I held on to it. Part two of the story is that Will gets a new tv when he gets home, therefor I sold the old one and that left a hole on our entertainment center. Which leads us to part three: jazzing up the unit.
Photobucket
I wasn't really sure what to do with laminate covered particle board, so the only answer was MOD PODGE and textured scrapbook paper. It's like a DIY'ers form of duct tape.
At least in my house it is.
Photobucket
I didn't want to leave the edges white, so I mixed a light brown oil paint with a grey acrylic paint.
I know that is quite an odd combo, but it gave it the wood texture that I was going for. I ended up having to cover the edges with mod podge to seal the oil in, but it worked!
Photobucket
You may not be able to see, but the texture on the outside looks like leather, and turned out fabulous! As a matter of fact, I think it pulled the whole area together. What do you think?
Photobucket
And when asked if he liked it, Will replied "Where's my TV and Xbox?"
He's very lucky I knew he was kidding.
Photobucket
I was once told that regardless of how many Military moves we make, we should always make each house a home. I have truly taken that to heart, and I am so happy to have a haven for our little family. It's not perfect, the dust still accumulates, and the dishes aren't always done, but it's all held together with love. Can't wait to have you home, lover.
Everything Has Potential If You Care To See
Well, hello Friday. What took you so long?
OK, so I did have yesterday off, but I spent the WHOLE day blogging.
That does NOT count as a day off. Haha.
I received another award this week from Jenn @ Going The Distance, and I had to participate for
 two reasons:
+I really liked the questions and came up with some responses from the heart.
+She is TWO followers away from 200, and she TOTALLY deserves the love.
She happens to be a fabulous blogger that I have enjoyed following for quite some time now. She is a teacher so she always has funny stories, she is creating a beautiful love story (you know I'm a sucker for love), and she has the funniest stories about her old roommate. I felt bad for her, but she had me cracking up. It's the stuff you just can't make up...
Back to business. Here are may answers for the Sunshine Award!
{Not doing the whole shebang, just the questions}
1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
My bubble toes. My mom, my sister, and I ALL have them.
They are "cute" I guess, but I just want normal toes!
2.  What is your theme song?
Bob Marley, Don't Worry Be Happy.
Self explanatory.
3.  One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?
I could say that I would rid my brain of the fights between my parents (they divorced), the feeling of breaking the heart of an ex and having mine broken in return, death of a family pet, or even the death of a dear friend and the memory of sitting on the hospital floor when they pulled the plug...However, each experience taught me a lesson that made me stronger, better, and more compassionate. No matter what you believe in, we all know that one small change can lead you down a completely different path, and I can't imagine being any where other than where I am now. Can you imagine if I had missed meeting Will? The thought is so scary, but more than anything, it's eye opening.
4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
Everyone says that Will and I are right out of the 50's. We love all things vintage, we don't get sucked into the new ideals of society, we believe in hard work and dedication, and our love is timeless. Plus I could totally rock some 50's fashion!
Here is an example that is definitely a throwback...I think this was 2007?
My first photo shoot ever, actually.
Photobucket
5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
I was never one of those kids that got emotionally attached to toys or blankies, but I do remember having a pretty sweet record collection at four years old, and I would rock out to Elvis e'rday.
6. What is your favorite housecleaning chore?
Organizing, because it leaves you feeling uncluttered, cleansed, and doesn't involve cleaning products, scrubbing, or dirt and grime.
7. Do you Twitter?
I used to think it was only for people that wanted the world to know when they took a poo, but now I love connecting with all my bloggy friends, and being able to connect with everyone quicker than just blogs and emails! Wanna chat? @janna_renee
8. Any goals?
My only goal at the moment is to get through this deployment as quickly as possible, but I would like to find a career that I can do from home. I know we all want that, but pretty soon I will share my reasoning! You might be surprised.
9. What is the ugliest car you've ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?
Well, when I was younger and vain, I'm talking Elementary school, my dad was redoing an old Ford pickup. We called it the "Truck of many colors", and when he pulled up to my school I would slink out embarrassed. My dad would laugh because he knew it was only a matter of time before I changed my tune. Let me tell you, to this day when I see that truck on the streets of Pensacola, I swell with pride that my daddy created that masterpiece. He's done it twenty times over and will continue to make pearls out of sand, but more importantly, he taught me that there is nothing in this world to be ashamed of. It's simply our responsibility to leave this world a little bit more beautiful, if we so choose.
I probably sound super corny, but this is me, so take it or leave it! I used to try to sound a little more "normal", but normal just isn't me ;) I am an English major who enjoys reading and writing, but I'm not perfect with grammar, so don't be all judgy.
One last thing, I am guest posting for Nikki @ My Life My Way, and am sharing how I live My life, MY way. I was "supposed" to do a lot of things so far in life, but I said eff that!
Go check it out, and you may learn something new about me...Like how I was "supposed" to take over the family business and DIDN'T. Dunh, dunh, DUNH.
Everyone kick off your weekend right, and remember:
Don't Worry, Be Happy!
Me And An Apron....
I must admit, I am in a daze after yesterday.
This is why I am VERY thankful that you can find me over at The Lovely Little Things.
Jessica put me in the hot seat with a little interview, but you will have to go check it out to see what it's about! I promise that she is the cutest little button, and you can't help but fall for her.
Go see for yourself.
Now the obvious reason for my daze is the big reveal of the Messy Project, which I am so thankful that y'all enjoyed, but the other part is a little more...interesting.
This next picture might really surprise you, but since I still can't tell you where I work, I will just let your minds wander. I will say that this isn't my normal job, but that's all you are gettin'!
Photobucket
I wore that apron for nine hours yesterday, but it was so fun to try something new.
Do you ever do that? Decide to do something just for the experience?
It may not be glamorous, but not all life experiences are...Sometimes you gotta get down and dirty!
At least I can mark it off my bucket list!
Thanks again for all the kind words yesterday, and don't forget to check me out on The Lovely Little Things. You might find that I am a big dork, but I'm just fine with that ;)
Now I'm off to recuperate, because I am slap wore out!
The Messy Project Reveal!
Welcome to the MESSY PROJECT!
Finally, right?
The Messy Project
Inspired by the brilliant fashionista Kelly, this little project was to show us that we can embrace our differences and make a fashion statement with our OWN style.
Simply put, Kelly picked a shirt, sent us all said shirt, and then we had to rock it our own way.
"When I started blogging about 6 months ago I wanted to find a fun way to interact with other bloggers doing something different than anybody else. Something to convey who we are. To show our style. To put our creative minds to work. To express our inner Fashionista. So The Messy Project was born."
- Kelly, Messy Dirty Hair
I have to admit, I was a bit scared hesitant at first because I don't think of myself as a 'fashionista'
Luckily, my love for Kelly and desire for a challenge, outweighed my hesitance.
I jumped in head first, and as soon as I received my project shirt...I was ready to rock'n roll!
The Deal:
1 Top
5 Girls
5 Different Looks
1 Major Blog Post Day
I immediately got in touch with the talented Dennis of All About You Photography, and he was happy to indulge me by capturing my S-T-Y-L-E in my attempts to do Kelly and the project right.
Plus I just don't do half @ss, obviously...
I'm an overachiever.
I chose to pair my top with:
Navy Cinch Waist Dress
White High-Waisted Belt
~and~
Nude Sling Backs
Please take a gander and tell me if you approve. I'd love to know!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
The best part is that we were able to use the INCREDIBLE Broadmoor Resort as our setting, and it will literally take your breath away. This last picture captures a glimpse at how magical the place is...
Photobucket
Anyhoosit...Can you see why this is such a fun idea?
We had a blast, got to flex our creativity, and we got to work with a fabulous group of girls!
It was amazing to see how we all put our own spin on it, and you can check out their style too:
And our Hostest with the Mostest....
Kelly is continuing this project indefinitely, so you can all join in the future!
I can verify that it's TOTALLY worth it.
If you want to see more of the Broadmoor, and the rest of the photo shoot, head over to my Facebook page! As soon as we hit 150 followers they will be shared!
Maybe I'll even share about the last time Will and I stayed there for a romantic getaway...
{Oooh lala}
Well, happy Wednesday, y'all, and stay stylish ;)
The Little Things...
Sometimes: It's the little things that mean the most.
Always: I'd rather find happiness in the little things, than bitter about everything.
Sometimes: Someone questions my character or motivations.
Always: We must never put stock in the misguided judgments of others.
Sometimes: I doodle on my notebook like a schoolgirl.
Always: I feel more like an adult when I can do it in Wordle form.
Photobucket
Sometimes: I come across an image that can't be saved/downloaded.
Always: I beat the system and take a screen shot.
(Hallelujah- it's not just for iPhone!)
Sometimes: I feel at a loss when it comes to what Apps to download.
(There are so many!)
Always: I love when bloggers make suggestions!
Photobucket
Thanks Amy! I'm totally diggin' the Marble Cam.
Sometimes: I take part in fun blog projects.
Always: I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve the day before.
Yep, that's right folks! Wednesday is the big day...
AND I CAN'T WAIT to reveal the Messy Project.
In case we haven't talked it up enough...you have now been reminded.
Hasta manana!
One Week!
Well, hello Monday. We meet again.
Only today I have to be at work at 8AM.
That is TWO HOURS earlier than normal.
Sheesh.
Good thing I rested up yesterday!
I talked to the hubs (duh), did a bit of sprucing up around the house, got some Vitamin D in the backyard, and was close to finishing this project:
Photobucket
I got that sweet little shelving unit on clearance at Target, and just WAIT till you see what it looks like now...I posted a picture on twitter, if you want a sneak peak.
I must say...even I am surprised at how gorgeous it's turning out. Plus it feels good to be working with my hands again. It's been far too long.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any help from this bugger:
Photobucket
He was imbibing on the peanut butter.
I told you that Coconut Peanut butter was addicting!
It's a good thing he's so cute, because he does NOT pull his weight around the house.
Puppy kisses can only get you so far, buddy boy.
Yeah right. Who am I kidding?
Those are the only kisses I'm gettin' this year!
___________________________________________________________
Now for the bi'ness end:
As I announced a few weeks ago, I am going to open up for Sponsorship!
But your $$ is no good here....
If you are interested in sponsoring my blog for the month of August, all you have to do is choose one of the following prompts and submit a short writing piece if you are so inspired.
I would like to feature your talents and together we will show that Perception really IS Everything.
I know, I know, I 'm a cheeseball, but read the prompts and you will see what I mean!
Prompt #1:
Share an experience with my followers of a time where someone perceived you in a way that surprised you or was not true, and how that affected you negatively or positively.
Example: I could share about the fact that everyone perceives me as a "dumb blonde" or ten years younger than I actually am. I could then explain how it used to bother me, and now I find it entertaining.
Prompt #2:
Share an experience where you misjudged someone, and what you learned from those false perceptions. This could be that you trusted someone that ended up hurting you, but I'd prefer that you judged someone negatively that ended up being the wrong assumption.
I'd like to showcase the negative side of perceptions, but will accept both entries.
Example: I almost believed the judgments of others, and didn't give my best friend a chance.
Now I realize that I would be lost with out her!
Prompt #3:
Share the positive side of a negative experience you faced.
Example: Enduring my husband's deployment is hard, but I am happy that I love someone so much that every minute is worth it.
I am giving you a heads up, because there is only one week left before the deadline!
I have a few submissions in, and several on the way, but the sizes and amount of sponsors will be determined when all submissions are in.
To enter email me directly, jannabogert@yahoo.com, with the following:
Your name
A photo of yourself
Your blog button
Your answer to the prompt of choice
Subject line: August Sponsors
All entries will be accepted until July 22nd, 11:59PM.
[For the procrastinators- I don't get up until 7AM]
I'm pretty darn excited about this, and have already been inspired by the entries.
It is going to mean so much to me to share your experiences, and to help promote your blogs.
Remember, one week!
Blogging Tips For the Hubby
Y'all. I am HIGH ON LIFE, right now. Have you ever been high on life?
You know that feeling when you could burst with happiness, you are full of ideas/inspiration, and it feels like nothing can stop you? I kind of go through phases, so I'm not totally positive what the exact cause was, but I think that a BIG part is that I have been blogging from my heart, and to find that it touches people? Priceless. This is what it's all about, or at least it is for me.
Perhaps another reason? I finished my part of The Messy Project and had a blast! I know that we are being very hush hush about all this, but I promise it will be worth the wait! The big reveal will be on July 18th, so stay tuned. While I was working on said project, I got to participate in a fun little photo shoot, and I could share some of those, but what's the fun in that? Instead, I am creating another mini-challenge. All we need to do is gain 32 more Facebook followers, and I will share the rest of these babies:
Photobucket
Shamelessly promoting...I know.
In other news:
The hubs left his FIRST comment on le blog yesterday!
It made me giddier than school boy wearing panty hose, and apparently that's pretty giddy.
As he is new to these parts, shall we teach him a few things about blogging?
#1 Lover, you are a no-reply commentor! GASP.
I'm sure you had no idea, but we need to fix that ASAP or I won't be able to reply back.
#2 Your profile is not accessible, and if you want traffic to your profile, you need to fix that.
Google + makes this super easy, so step it up!
#3 If you had a blog, you would have word verification on, and we Just.Can't.Have.That.
If I commented and you verified me...I would feel violated. Just sayin'.
So where can you go to fix all of this, lover?
There are MANY tutorials out there, but this one at 5ohwifey will definitely get you going!
I suggest that other new bloggers follow suit if you have any of these issues, and as a matter of fact, you may suffer from these problems and not even KNOW.
Let's all fix them, and make this world a better place.
kthxbye
Last, but not least, Have you noticed the new button that you can pick up on that thar side bar?
Photobucket
It doesn't matter whether you have sent a million care packages or simply sent your thoughts and prayers to those in war, either way  you are supporting our troops, and I give you full permission to rock that button! I've seen it pop up on a few blogs, and it definitely makes my life. Do you want to make my life too?
You know what else is making my life? Friday the 13th!
Let's just hope the crazies don't go too crazy.
Have a great weekend, y'all!
Catch ya on the flip side ;)
